[Exclusive] YG Entertainment, which is folding its acting business, has completed individual interviews with Cha Seung-won and Son Na-eun… Consecutive contract terminations

YG Entertainment (hereafter referred to as YG) is ending its actor business. The actors who have completed individual interviews will leave YG in the order in which their contracts expire.

On the 17th, YG announced that it will end its actor management business. It explained that it has reorganized its business structure in order to focus on its main business, music, and as part of this, it has withdrawn from the actor business.

Previously, YG had been in the process of reorganizing its actor management business since last year. According to a report by Daily Sports, it also carried out an organizational restructuring on January 1 based on this plan. According to insiders, YG is known to have met with each actor individually, explained the company’s current situation and future business direction, and asked for their understanding.

The breakup method is not that all actors leave YG at a certain point in time, but rather that they do not renew their contracts. They decided to carry out management until the end of their existing contracts and then sequentially end their contracts.

Currently, YG actors include Kim Hee-ae, Cha Seung-won, Jang Hyun-seung, Yoo In-na, Jung Hye-young, Yoo Seung-ho, Soo Hyun, Lee Sung-kyung, Jang Ki-yong, Lee Soo-hyuk, Kyung Soo-jin, Han Seung-yeon, Son Na-eun, Seo Jung-yeon, Jin Kyung, Gal So-won, Park So-yi, Lee Ho-jung, and Joo Woo-jae. Among them, the one whose contract date was revealed is Yoo Seung-ho, who will be leaving YG at the end of March. A

YG official said, “We sincerely thank all the actors who have been with us and the fans who have shown us so much love,” and “We will not spare any support that is needed until the end.”

Good thing Hybe has up and coming successful artists so they won’t be relying on BTS as much…Waiting to see how they perform long term in the gaming business they’ve invested in….the entertainment industry in SK is certainly an unstable one

That's why for the sake of Hybe and ultimately BTS, I would like to see more & more successful artists from this company. BTS is a phenomenon and likely will not be repeated so it's not a good thing that the majority of income still rides on their shoulders. Meaning I hope they are not relying it only. I hope they are really focusing on a future without them.

Sounds like they spread their prospects too thin, banking on BP to finance all these endeavors. Long breaks between albums is not a good idea in this very fickle and competitive music market. BP has lost its luster, and their last tour was such a financial disappointment. Now they are cutting way back, but they need to do more than just trim the excess. They need to get more groups that can fill BP’s shoes. Jmho, everybody has opions.
