The discussion on "FIRST ASIAN" label, I assume, will evolve as more and more Western artists claim their Asian heritage. More and more haters will also use that to invalidate BTS' records and members as solo acts.

I am still processing it. On the one hand, I don't want to invalidate artists who are claiming their heritage. I also don't want to minimize the influence and role of culture, upbringing and social influences in what it "actually means to be Asian."

There are discussions on the need to blur the lines in the interest of unifying the world.

Here is my stand:

I believe we should look at people as human beings, full stop.

But identity is important and a huge part of what we are is our upbringing and that brings with it culture, social influences, and even the political structure of the country we grew up in. I believe we can all be different and still be united.

I may have to think about it more as to where I stand when it comes to the "ASIAN" label. That being said, whatever I conclude will be where "I" stand and I do not expect everyone to agree with me unless they sincerely agree with me.

For now, I will use "ASIAN NATIVE" to refer to BTS records where appropriate. I, however, welcome your inputs in the community section.
