ADD SINCERITY TO YOUR CONTENT, LIKE BTS - SK'S MINISTRY OF CULTURE

During a meeting on October 10th at the Korea Creative Content Agency in Naju, Jeollanam-do, Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Yoo In-chon responded to a question about sustaining the success of K-content in Europe. He emphasized the importance of sincerity in content, using BTS as an example of genuine communication with young people worldwide. Yoo stressed that even though dramas are fictional, making the audience perceive them as true is key to success.

Charlotte de Placieux, a cultural cooperation expert from the Korea Creative Content Agency, raised her hand during the discussion. She has been working for two years to promote cooperation between Korea and France in the content field.

Minister Yoo acknowledged that while the Korean government has played a supportive role, the creativity of the artists is crucial. He noted the emotional response to a recent performance by Korean and French dance teams in Paris, receiving a standing ovation. Yoo emphasized the need to infuse sincerity and trust into more content to enhance its value.

Minister Yoo highlighted that developing the capabilities of companies and creators to produce high-quality content is essential. He encouraged the Korea Creative Content Agency to continue its mission and expand its role in introducing Korean culture, arts, sports, and tourism globally. Yoo cited the drama "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" as an example of content that conveys Korean philosophy and culture, making even dishes like gimbap popular.

Yoo has a special connection with the Korea Creative Content Agency, having established it during his first term as minister in 2009. Since then, content exports have surpassed those of home appliances and secondary batteries, with the agency's budget and workforce tripling.

In another meeting with the Korea Arts Council, Yoo discussed the need for transformation in the organization, which celebrated its 50th anniversary last year. The Arts Council supports various arts fields and operates the Arko Theater and art museums. Yoo stressed the importance of adapting to changes and enhancing the support system for successful repertoires.

During this meeting, employees of the Arts Council expressed concerns about overlapping projects with other arts organizations and the need for better coordination. Yoo assured them of ongoing efforts to address these issues and emphasized the goal of enabling stable creative activities for art groups and artists.

Chairman Jeong Byeong-guk of the Arts Council highlighted the challenges faced by employees who have to travel to Seoul daily, underscoring the need for better support and discussion to alleviate their concerns.

Overall, Minister Yoo's visit aimed to encourage continued growth and adaptation in Korea's cultural content industry, ensuring it remains globally competitive and culturally significant.

Interesting. Aren't these the agencies that were asked to investigate BTS again? You is right though. 💜
