Patreon's Updated Guidelines & Impact on This Page
Added 2024-10-24 00:31:14 +0000 UTCSo on September 30, 2024, Patreon published their mid-year 2024 policy updates, covering adult content. This has been hailed by some as a step towards getting rid of AI generated content on Patreon.
This doesn't appear to be entirely correct, since it seems to focus solely on "hyper realistic" adult / 18+ AI generated content, not a blanket ban on AI generated content as a whole. Correct me if I'm wrong.
But what's more interesting is how the guidelines define "hyper realistic". Quote:
"We also included detailed criteria for what is considered hyperrealistic as opposed to animated or illustrated: Anatomical consistency with human features (i.e. not part-robot or part-animal), mimicking natural lighting and movement, detailed texture (e.g. skin pores, wrinkles, individual eyelashes, lifelike shadows), and composition (e.g. three-dimensional, high-resolution, with intricate backgrounds and foregrounds)."
So by the sound of it, while it seems to focus on "AI Generated Images", the definition for "hyper realistic" could easily cover 3D generated content also.
ICFMG started with rendered images of 3D models. Even my early work dating back to 2012 would technically be considered "hyper realistic" according to this policy. And if not, then what criteria would be used to distinguish a realistic 3D render from a realistic AI generated image? Would it be up to the discretion of whoever at Patreon was looking at it?
Regardless of possible interpretations, since this is now the new policy going forward, anything which could violate it will not be posted on this Patreon. And anything which I have posted here in the past, that could violate the new guidelines, will be removed.
So "Buff Lady", my last post, will no longer be on Patreon. I will also no longer be posting any similar looking content on Patreon again.
Regarding old content, I am still unclear how much of my previous work is considered "hyper realistic". But anything which stands out, and is on Patreon, will also unfortunately have to be removed.
I hope there will be improved clarification regarding 3D rendered content going forward.
Thank you,
ICFMG.
