May update post (Tier changes, project updates)

Hey everyone it’s LaundryMom!

With the month of may around the corner, I thought it would be a good time to provide you guys with an update on personal matters, ongoing projects and changes coming to the patreon.

Personal update

Recently I decided to leave my apartment and move back to my parents. I’ve already begun moving my massive amount of bullshit out of my apartment but most of the moving will be done after may 17th. I’m hoping to get a bit of content made in preparation for the move so you guys still have some stuff to look forward to while I’m away. I’m hoping the move will give me more time to focus on artwork, and growing.

Project updates

Early comic project:

One of the things I really want to bring back is doing comic projects like I did back in 2020. I’ve had very little time to prepare a project of that scope again, however I’ve been using the little time I have to put together a script for a new project. I’m waiting until the entire comic is done before I release it. When the comic is ready, I plan on releasing pages early for those in the $5 tier. I plan on sharing information on the project once it’s in a near complete state. Look forward to it!

Tier changes

One of the frustrating things about patreon is needing to balance a good pay model with a solid amount of content to give patrons the best value for their buck. And as time goes on I’ve learned what works and what doesn’t with my model. Recently I’ve started to think that a change I made wasn’t one that would work out as well as I hoped so I decided to make some changes to do what I feel improves the patreon. Here’s the changes

$3 tier

• Removed Tier
  • (I originally added this tier to give an in between for $1 and $5 but I find it has just taken value away from the $5 and $10 tiers, and I feel it would be better to simply give those benefits to higher tiers.)

$5 tier

• Added: Get early access to public art (1 day - 1 week early)
• Added: get access to monthly poll drawings early
• Added: access to time-lapse videos of my drawings.
• Changed: 5 votes on monthly polls to 3 votes on monthly polls
• Removed: monthly request box
  • With the request box drawings now being colored pieces, I feel they now have a higher value than when they were just sketched requests.

$10 tier

• Moved: access to time-lapse videos to $5 tier
• Monthly request box drawings will now be colored pieces
  • This is because I would often draw requests I liked but didn’t want to favor specific ones by sketching some and rendering others.
• Patrons will now submit request box submissions through an anonymous google form rather than the patreon comments section

Planned tier: $20 tier (still a work in progress as I would only want this tier here once I had comic projects available.)
