Good Boye Guild Name Results!

 Happy Monday, patrons! I’m back to reveal the final names of the Good Boye Guild members. Keep reading after the reveal if you’d like to see a more detailed voting breakdown and my thoughts on the polls!

The Votes

You’ll notice I added last names, which were either other suggestions I liked or slight variations of suggestions. I waited until voting on the first names ended before deciding on last names since I wanted them to work well together. The pups will pretty much only go by their first names, so the last names are more of a ‘deep lore’ kind of thing haha!

Below you’ll see screenshots of the final voting breakdown and numbers. The obvious variant is the Rogue, who had two names tie for first place and needed a secondary poll to decide the final choice. I enabled random question and answer order in the poll to ensure that there would be no implicit voting bias based on name order. So these results are as unbiased as they can get!

The Rogue had the most name suggestions to choose from out of the entire cast. I liked many of the names equally, and your votes show you all felt the same! "Robin" ended up being the winner for the Rogue's name after a tiebreaker poll. It's a fantastic name that not only is one of my favorite girl names, but a pun as well!

I was so pleased to see how the votes came in for the Barbarian. There were two ways to go with the character: very tough dog names or ironic cutesy names. In the end, you all liked the irony of a cute name like "Buttercup" to represent the character!

This was a difficult round of names! I learned that "Castamere" was actually a GoT reference, which I didn't know beforehand, so I was worried at first there may need to be a revote. "Caduceus" was my personal favorite of the top five, but it was neither a popular suggestion nor a favorite in the voting breakdown. In the end, "Freya" emerged the clear victor in the polls. It's a noble-sounding name that invokes feelings of wisdom and serenity, which is very suiting for the cleric!

I was torn on whether or not to include "Dandelion" as a choice in the poll. It was a clear favorite in suggestions, however it was technically a reference. The reason I included it, in the end, was because I started liking the shorter version "Dandy" quite a bit! The definition of the word dandy fits the personality of the bard so well, I thought it was a great way to include a name that many people liked while also making it unique to the character.

These names felt the most varied, but they were all wonderful choices I wouldn't have thought of on my own. "Sparky" and "Merlin" were early leaders in the polls, however "Presto" ended up being the final choice. It's an adorable name that fits the Wizard so well, it makes me smile every time I use it!

The Conclusion

I'm so grateful to everyone who participated in this event! I thought it was going to be something nice and casual and blew up into a larger thing than I anticipated, which was incredibly humbling to see. I appreciate you all helping me give these characters names and for voicing your opinions and lending advice when needed.
