June Update and Behind-the-Scenes!

Hello my lovely Patreon family! I’m sneaking this monthly update in just shy of the end of the month because boy howdy was June busy.

June Recap:

I come to you now a con season survivor. NAY! A con season hero. My badges hang on the wall as testament to my feats of strength and endurance. It was a hard month, but I have emerged from the arena a champion. A tired, dirty, and hungry champion, but a champion nonetheless.

This month I had the challenge of tackling two large conventions back-to-back. First I attended a semi-local anime convention called A-Kon. As some of you may have picked up from tweets and other online communications, A-Kon did not go well. I took a risk by signing up for an anime convention instead of a regular comic con, and it turned out to be a bust. That’s okay! This was my trial run year, and honestly I consider myself pretty lucky that I only had one bum convention.

After getting back into town from A-Kon, I had a total of three days to finish my weekly comic quota and pack/prep for the next convention: Awesome Con. Awesome Con was a lovely little reunion for me and a few of my webcomic/World Walker buddies. Things went really well that weekend, and I’m really happy I could end the con season on a high note.

The rest of this month was a whole lot of life update stuff. Ew, life! Why can’t you leave me be? All I want to do is draw my comics in peace! Shoo!

I got really sick after coming back from DC, but thankfully I was only down for about three days. Then it was my birthday! And finally, the biggest reason why I’ve been pretty absent with regular updates and posts: I’m moving!!!!! Sort of!!!!

I’m moving to Austin for a short period of time while I run the Unipegasaurus kickstarter campaign. It may be a permanent move, or it may not be, who knows! Life sure is funny that way. However, I’m hoping after this weekend I’ll be able to start up my regular work schedule again, including streams. I’ll keep you posted, my lovely patrons!

On the Horizon:

2017 has been a really fun and busy year so far, and there are still a few more things I’d like to start before it ends. The main item on the agenda for July will be the kickstarter campaign. In fact, it’ll probably be the priority for the next couple of months or so.

Other things that are on my radar include: re-opening the online shop with new merch designs and items, and cooking up some fun changes for the $3 and $10 Patreon tiers.

While the first half of 2017 was categorized by lots and lots of hustling, I think the second half will be a period of reflection, metamorphosis, and growth for me and my art. Part of that will be transitioning to take on bigger and more ambitious projects. While I’m not sure how the rest of 2017 will actually turn out, I’m excited for the journey!

Thank you all so much for your support. It really makes all the difference during times like these. I’ll be back with another update soon!

WHAT UP FELLOW TEXAN! Austin is actually my hometown, so I'm pretty excited to be going back, even if it is potentially just for a few months.

Oh you're going to LOVE Austin. I'm in San Antonio but we visited Austin sometimes and it's really neat there. Hope you like the heat!
