Skills 2.0

Okay, I think I fixed it. I spend some days thinking about some system that would let me allow the player some freedom, but that at the same wasn’t a total “hell on earth” of choices.

Here is what I’ve come up with:

Rinets will have the ability to specialize in five different Warp Points: Mind, Eyes, Throat, Arms or Base. They were made based on the old five basic skills.

How does it work?

You will choose one of those:

- Mind Point is better warp control. Your skills cost less MP and you can use barriers.

- Eyes Point is more focused on senses.  It’s critical, quickness and reaction attacks.

- Throat Point is area skills and warp magic damage.

- Arms Point is melee damage and defense.

- Base Point is your body improvement and healing.

There are also Rinet skills that you learn disregarding your Point choice. Now you can focus on whatever you like without worrying about healing and force damage.

Okay, what about the Skill Learn System?

Well, Diana and Zack will be able to learn skills based on which Warp Point you select. Those skills will be able to be upgraded three times using points that you gather when you level up. The party members on other hand… I think I will make them learn a specific number of skills without player input. I think this… balances the issues.

This week I just wanted to get this done, so I put on paper 20 Skills (60, if you count upgrades) for Diana.
