The Industry, The Game And The Dam

Hey guys, busy days: I will talk about three things that I think are important and affected my work in different ways.

This is a long one.

A talk about the industry of H-games:

So, I wanted to talk about something I noticed in the H-game community’s and developers writing.

You see, I normally get upset when scrolling down most of the games (let’s say… on DLsite) because if I take off all the tags that I hate (Violation, Slaveness, Rape, Mind-break, Humiliation, some other that I don’t remember) I end up cutting off 95% of the content there… and there is STILL some of that with wrong tags…

So, one of those days I thought really hard on why it is like that. I don’t like to jump to conclusions like “all men are assholes” because it’s silly, but we can’t deny that we are all the public to whom those things are made. So… what happened?

I believe that, most of the games normally reflect opinions that the author and the audience, that’s why some may have success and some may not, so why does most of the H-games have rape and/or coercion in regards to sex? 

I think it’s because the people who produce/play/like that, have not a clue on how woman act and how to “get” (I don’t like to say it like that) sex, so the only things that come to mind is tricking or forcing. BY NO MEANS I am trying to shame people here. I know that it’s not easy to face certain things about the opposite sex and our own insecurities… but seriously, doesn’t it make sense? You want to get “something”, so you buy it or you steal it.

Because “it” is not considered a person.

You coerce, you trick or you force. All practices made by scum, but in games they are okay.

I don’t actually want to shame people for that. I know that there are some scenarios where I enjoy “tricking” and I am a fan from the Rance series (Guilty pleasure, but I can’t help but find them damn funny)… so, my intention with this post is just to… maybe reflect about it? Should we really consume media that glamorize rape, coercion, violation, slaveness, mind-break…?

Maybe it’s like a shounen thing? You are young and like most of the shounen animes, then you get old and notice that most of them are silly and the same thing? Maybe I am too old then.

Another example:

There is an author (I will not name anyone here) that I follow, that works drawing a porn comic. He treats rape like a “not important” think, you can see it in the narrative (It’s like Auril games, it happens but everyone sort of don’t care about it). Well, one user commented this:

“I don’t want to kink shame you, but the story is kind of heavy on rape lately”.

His answer was what kind of intrigued me though… It was more or less something like this:

“Well, I guess I could make (female character) have some romantic sex in the future.”

Do you understand my point? It’s like most of the guys are fixated on this thing that says that woman CANNOT like or enjoy sex with anyone but the love of their lives (god forbid they do). That type of thinking restricts your writing because if you want to have a heroine to have sex multiple times without labeling her a whore (therefore, not a “good” woman), she will be tricked and she will be raped. Know why? Because then, the sex is not her fault. It’s more acceptable rape than promiscuity, because the second makes men insecure. It’s easier to call her a slut.

So Stalker, do you actually have solution?

More like a suggestion to early developers that want to try making a game and are a really too impressed with the porn.

Try to make a female character that you like and respect. Make someone like your sister, your mother or even someone that you genuinely like. That way, you will not accept when she gets mistreated… or you will try to find ways to avoid, to fight or to help her. It will be a challenge, but we only get better when challenged.

And guys, we can be better.   

RINETS QUEST:

Sorry for the delay. I didn’t want to give you another “it’s almost ready”, so I decide to push it until I got all the writing done.

“You said it was almost done and you had to do was an H-scene”.

Yeah, but then I remembered it was supposed to be TWO H-scenes in the update. Anyway, now I am done and ready to send the drafts to my artist AND start the integration. There was some stuff that left me upset and with difficulty of focusing, but I will explain more later.

About the update:

Do you guys like riddles? I personally don’t, but I tried to put them in this part of the game because it kind of made sense. They are skipable though… but better rewards wait those who try them.

A character from the prologue will appear!

There will be enough differences based on the Khannard/Israa choice.

I don’t want to add much more because of spoilers but… I will try to have a fight where you can use six players at the same time.

Diana, Khannard, Jack, Falco, Skaal and Ryan VS someone. Let’s hope it doesn’t crash the RAM.

I was upset this week because a dam broke down and killed more or less three thousand people (Confirmed with heve fourty but... well where are the rest,you know?). It was in Brumadinho (for those who want to read about). It’s in the middle of the country (Belo Horizonte), very far from where I live, but even so, people died by crushing, drowning and were buried alive by all that mud. 

The bombeiros (Firefighters, but it doesn’t apply just to fire hazards) are working there, but the mud is toxic since it’s rejects from a mine (It must be a mixture of iron,manganese, aluminium, so it can affect people if they touch it).

I don’t have to tell you that, nothing will probably ever grow there now. It’s done. We fucked up. Killed all the animals there, all the fish on the rivers, and who knows until where the mud will travel and how much of the rivers nearby it will contaminate. 

But how it broke down? 

Our government didn’t have money to supervise ALL of the dams, because we have a lot of them. So they kind gave an aval for the companies to inspect themselves (LOL) and send the “proof” of a check up back to the government.

Spoiler: It didn’t work.

And then out of nowhere we received aid from Israel(!?!?), some soldiers came here to help with the searches, and I REALLY don’t want to turn away or complain about help but-

They are doing politics! What the hell!? (Remember this in your hearts: Every time someone says it’s not about politics, someone is getting tripped by a politician.)

This new President(scum) also changed Brazil’s embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem like Trump did(because if Trump did it, it must be a good idea) and now they have this all loving relationship where they come here and help us, isn’t that beautiful? 

The chief of operations here said (before he was shushed) that their technology doesn’t work very well here because the bodies in the mud are cold. He said that the help is welcome, but it’s grunt work, and if it’s grunt work, we can do it ourselves. Hell, the army can do it! It’s politics in the middle of a disaster! Come on!

Then I get called scum, because “they are just helping us”, how can I be so selfish.

*sigh*
