Yea the books came first and there are four books. Imma still watch the tv series because I really like the storyline and hoping they do a good job with it. Coming to America 2 was 🗑️ wasn’t even funny to me they waited 33 years which is wild.

Ah so theres a book of it,assuming that came first so ,was that the inspiration for the movie.Personally dont think thats a good idea,one for that reason you mentioned(not using original cast)but also waiting too long to release as that spark (or should i say) interest has gone by that point.Gotta keep that fire ablaze and fresh in the peoles minds otherwise it fizzles lol one that reminds me or is a perfect example of this is "Beverly Hills Cop" with the new "Axel Foley" release & "Coming To America 2 " & "Gladiator II" (especially with the use of CGI in that one)i could be wrong as ive yet to watch em, but assuming they just wont be as great as thee original.Some things are just best left alone and appreciated for what they are.

It’s been 10yrs since they dropped part 3 of the movie they wanted to do a tv series instead of the 4th movie but the cast wanted to do the movie instead idk how thats going to work after 10yrs without the original cast. They also said they would have to switch the story for the tv series which kind ruins it and also this movie is based on a book.
