The Wire just opens our eyes on how nothing changes…

2024-12-28 02:17:29 +0000 UTCAs far as y’all season 2 recap, I feel you, but season 1 was def better, just think about the dynamic of D’Angelo, Omar running the streets heavy, Avon and Stringer pulling strings from the backgrounds. It was a masterpiece. Season 2 was cool, but it almost seemed like a different world, Ziggy, white Mike, the other white dealer, just seemed out of place. The writing is great so the season was still cool, but 1 was better to me. And get ready for a ride in this season. Appreciate y’all getting right to it. Haven’t been dropping my type of movies lately, but I know y’all gonna come back to my side soon

Even though season 2 was universally praised and loved by critics it was hated by a lot of fans when it first came out back in 2003. Not because of the writing or acting but a lot of fans and even some of the cast of the show (actors of Omar and Kima Mainly) did not like how the black characters were basically sidelined for the new white characters especially after how vital their storylines were in season 1. And same with fans. They thought they whitewashed the show at the time as on HBO The wire had low ratings and was in the shadow of the Sopranos which ran the network so fans thought the writers tried to write in white characters to compete with them. It wasn't until after the show ended that season 2 got love.
