Agree with Pulp Fiction & Jackie Brown,From Dusk Til Dawn,not so much.Only thing i love about that movie is the iconic Salma Hayek dance scene👸🐍💃🥵😁

Y'all probably caught this by now while editing though. In this case though I think it's fair to say that a lot of people were confused by that at first lol

2024-12-28 17:29:26 +0000 UTCI'm not sure if somebody already commented this but the reason why there are so many of the old sound effects, and that style of blood spray, and that retro feel in general is because Kill Bill is inspired by a lot of the old exploitation films that came out in the 70s. Also this film is a mix of a bunch of genres: the samurai film, the spaghetti western (Italian western), Yakuza film (Japanese crime), anime. The hospital scene is an old Italian horror film. It's that way in volume 2 as well. Also you guys are making the right decision by just going on to volume 2 without a poll. You pretty much have to watch volume 2 to get the whole story. It looks like y'all figured that out though.

Being a Yakuza Boss mean you already proven yourself to be in the position you're in. It's a hierarchy. You already put in the work & blood. That's why they have subordinates for them to deal with what they don't need or feel like dealing with. These subordinates have different ranks, and some of these subordinates have subordinates of their own, but. Oren being THE Boss of ALL Yakuza Bosses? It's like someone pulling up to Vito Corelone and expecting Vito to deal with it himself when he's surrounded by his people that are to supposed. Vito already put in his time. The CEO of a car dealership isn't going to becoming down from their corporate office to sell you a car. That's what the workers are for. The President is the General of the United States Army, but he's not the one on the front lines fighting even though the president is usually the one really with the beef with another country, not the soldiers. They're there to prove themselves now. What's the point of being on top of you're still subjected to doing grunt work such as fighting...

It ALWAYS comes together at the end. Just enjoy, learn different styles of film, and be patient! lol

Cant wait for you to see how it ends. Also, Kill Bill Vol. 1 came out in October 2003. Vol 2. came out February 2004, so the people didnt have to wait long

He really popularized that kind of storytelling for modern directors in the 90s/2000's. Part of the fun is seeing how he plays with time to tell smaller stories out of sequence, before bringing the story back around to the present. For this particular movie, O-Ren was the first kill on the list, but we find out that the most important bit at the end is that O-Ren's best friend Sofie is the one that dropped dime on where the rest of the assassins on her list were hiding out. That's how The Bride was able to find Vivica A Fox's character at the start. So the point of Vol 1 was really to show how she came up with the order of her list and got the drop on each person she had to kill, but Tarantino figured it would be more fun to tell the story out of order so that the coolest, most dramatic, and most cathartic fight sequence occurred at the climax of the film instead of at the start. I think bro is a master at developing characters and stories this way. On another stylistic choice, worth pointing out that Kill Bill is an homage to old school martial arts films. I don't know if you've ever seen any Bruce Lee movies, but think of that as an influence. So the over the top blood splatter, defying laws of physics fight choreography, martial arts swishing noises, and even some of the camera cuts and music are inspired or taken directly from those films. But yeah fun reaction. You gotta go ahead and continue to Volume 2. Tarantino actually filmed both Volume 1 and Volume 2 at the same time because he initially intended for it to be one film, but it would have been like 4 hours long so he decided to split the movie in two parts and release them one year apart. But I still always see them as two halves. So you def gotta continue the ride.

Both are damn near evenly matched in terms of skill, O-Ren was the only one that actually hurt The Bride by getting that deep gash across her back in round 1. And O-Ren seemed shocked when The Bride got that first gash on her in round 2, it’s why she went from ridiculing The Bride to apologizing to her and showing respect. It wasn't because she murked those hench men, that was child's play, it was because she got a lick on her. But you could tell by that point they both knew that whoever got the next lick was gonna win. The one on one ended on a 2-1 win for The Bride, and I think a big deciding factor was probably that she had the sharper and superior sword. That and revenge on her side lol.
