Dude the just said “This is SENATOR DAVIS” and the first that y’all say is “Maybe he’s working with the other guy!” lol! When the police start looking at campaign finance records, it obviously rattles politicians because guess what, they have campaigns. It kinda hurts your understanding of what’s happening when you don’t know how politics or the government works. The lady with the red hair is THE State Attorney. The only person about her in the state in the State Attorney General (if they have one). When the guy was worried about the $4500 checks, it wasn’t because he was getting red hair in trouble, it was because he knew that she had the authority to investigate any wrongdoing in the state. The issue is SHE didn’t know it was happening and to be honest, she didn’t need to know because those records are public. She would have been needed to authorize a subpoena (maybe) but public records are there for the taking. Back to Senator Davis: Rawls is more worried about protecting Davis because Davis is his buddy and as a politician, he can make life easier for Rawls who might also have political ambitions. Why does Davis care? Because he has to be elected to stay in office. Even if there’s nothing, news that there’s an investigation into him about illegal activity could tank reelection chances. lol. I hope I can keep watching with y’all without getting pissed off. lol. Hold on to The Wire and come back and watch it after you’ve had a lot more life experience and it’ll be even more enjoyable. Some of the things don’t make sense to you because you haven’t experienced the underbelly of this crazy mess we live in.. You’ll get there tho!

Stringer don’t care about the street as much as stacking paper and building wealth for the future. That’s the whole conflict. If you watch the series again, you’ll see a lot of subtle things you missed the first time.

2024-11-14 15:29:40 +0000 UTCPoot (Wallace's best friend) was putting Wallace out of his misery by telling Bodie to "do it gotdammit if you're gonna do it." He didn't like seeing Wallace crying and pissing in his pants while Bodie belittled him. If they were going to kill him, he just wanted to do it and not prolong or humiliate him. That's partially why he shot Wallace in the head when he was bleeding out still alive, to go ahead and end his suffering. I think the other reason Poot also shot Wallace was to share the weight of killing Wallace with Bodie. He wasn't going to let Bodie carry that shit alone.

The Wire is the best series ever because of the realism. It’s based off of true people and events, the real life Omar is actually in the show, I believe season 3 or 4. And it shows how much dirt is being done by police , city officials and higher ups, not just the street dudes. You have to go to season 2 and beyond. Season 2 is different but it all ties in together. I’m riding this with y’all like it’s my 1st time watching

Marlon Wayans is playing a 100% straight up dramatic role as a drug addict. If you wanna keep your kids away from drugs, let ‘em watch this. I felt like I had to take a shower when I got home from the theater. This wasn’t a mainstream, popcorn movie so it didn’t get a lot of promotion when it released. But nobody who’s seen this movie will ever forget it. Just ask them. The original ending had to be changed a couple of weeks after the movie came out because it was considered too sexually graphic. They wanted to give the movie an NC-17 rating because of the original ending. Keep an eye out for the actress playing the main character’s mother. She absolutely steals the movie. One of the greatest performances you will ever see on film. She broke me down to my core. My eyes were leaking. I remember trying not to blink because I didn’t want anyone to see the tears falling.
