Cecil knows Nolan did it, but Damien sees the world in black & white and wants to confront Nolan directly (which robs the GDA of any potential in gaining leverage or time to learn how to beat him), while Cecil sees the world in grey, and he hopes that thereβs a reason, knows that the Earth would be destroyed by him, tried to send him to space to investigate and also hopes Mark doesnβt align with his dad.
