X-Men: First Class - FULL REACTION

This has got to be one of my favourite superhero films ever! I loved seeing the beginnings of Charles and Eric and how their friendship turned sour as their goals intervened with each others plans. Enjoy :)

Still waiting for Days of Future Past lol

The same about russian/ ukrainian-- but I guess it's for all native speakers -- sounds kinda weird to us . For example how Natasha Romanov speaks ))

Mariia K 🇺🇦

Did he?? I can't find them anywhere but I'd love to watch them :O

I forgot how good the music was in this one. One of my favorite sound tracks is from the last movie in this series, Dark Phoenix. Hans Zimmer did some excellent work on that one 👍

Oscar, Have you never heard of the Cuban Missile Crisis? I mean, I guess it would be a much bigger deal in the U.S., but it certainly almost brought the whole world close to ending. All the news clips are real, AND in context. Nuclear war almost happened in 1962. The only difference is, as far as we know mutants had nothing to do with it. Read about it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cuban_Missile_Crisis#Later_revelations

The next one might be even better. The one I feel the most for is Hank, because in the overall scheme of things most people wouldn't know he even had a mutation unless he went to the beach, and Raven liked his feet just fine as they were. He just couldn't see the answer to all his troubles was sitting right in front of him probably hoping to play footsie.

You've heard correctly, the next one is peak. The third one has exactly one epic scene that is my favorite thing in any X-Men film but sadly falls short everywhere else, and the fourth is pretty much universally hated 🤣

Easter’s coming up, I thought a reaction to The Passion would be good for the soul

He already did all the HTTYD movies

Yeah, I liked a lot of things in this movie....and i disliked a lot about this movie. X men is my favorite comic...I've spent more time reading and learning about them than any other superhero(s). you are right about the "cartoonish" way humans were bigoted towards mutants. I thought the direction the extras playing the humans were given to make their bullying seemed over played and inauthentic. Also, the lack of detail about X-Men characters and the timeline was disappointing. Emma Frost's diamond form shouldn't have broken because Erik applied a bit a pressure to it.....(sigh). and all of them getting their hero/villain names from Mystique just coming up with them like a kid in a treehouse coming up with nicknames for all her Barbie dolls was a bit dull. and don't get me started on Beast.....He would've looked better with practical makeup. making him CGI was a little cringe, and uncharacteristic for the X-Men franchise up to this point.(everything was practical) however, I have always like the Hellfire Club. Sebastian Shaw as it's leader....everybody wore formal attire(suits and dresses). they had codenames after chess board pieces. Emma Frost the telepath has always been a rival to Charles...and they have a flirtatious relationship. When she goes into diamond form, she protects herself from physical and psychic attack, but in that form, she cannot use her psychic power.

I have mixed feelings about English-speaking actors trying to play Germans. The german that is spoken from Kevin Bacon may sounds good to english speakers but it is so terrible. Especially for a man in this position he should be. But to be fair it's way better than alot of other examples. (the german guy from HIMYM with the stupid word he told Ted at the train station and no one in germany ever heard about not even know. xD) So I'm really glad they had real German actors in the Argentina scene. But I like this film and dunno why but I like it in some ways more than the original three. maybe because you get more sucked into the character growth and there stories.

Astoria

Woof first class is awesome as is the sequel days of future past (:

James McCarthy

Darwin dying in this movie is one of the only gripes I had. In the comics he was so strong that in the movie his power adapted to remove him from the franchise before Fox could ruin it somehow.

Eric Gjertsen

Michael Fassbender eatssss in this movie😭😭 from the scene in the bar in Argentina “let’s just say i’m frankenstein’s monster and im looking for my creator” to the scene where he puts the coin through Shaw’s head to probably the best line in any superhero movie ever “i’ve been at the mercy of men just following orders, never again” likeee😭 i cannot say Erik is a flat out horrible villain because my guy literally grew up in Nazi Germany, he’s seen the worst of what humanity has to offer before. so i get him seeing the signs and figuring humanity’s about to go the same way again lol we humans do have a nasty habit of not learning from our history of mistakes🤷🏾‍♀️😂

This brightened up my day. One thing you might not have caught is that the disagreeable man in the CIA, William Stryker Sr, is the father of William Stryker Jr, the main antagonist of X-2.

Lawson Lim

Thank you for the reaction! I’m so glad you enjoyed this movie too. It’s my favorite X-Men. It’s so rare to see a superhero movie where the antagonist’s side is understandable and based on something other than just power for power’s sake.

Maisie

From the description alone, i can promise the next one is JUST as good if not better, insanely good prequels, some of the best superhero movies ever

Mikkel Øberg

allow me to nerd out a little here: so when this movie came out it came out as a complete reset of the timeline. you can tell by quite a few things: firstly charles loses his ability to walk in this movie but in last stand he was seen much older walking. Erik said he built cerebro with Charles and in this we see Hank built it. Raven and Charles have a history that wasn’t even touched in this first trilogy. plus Erik and Charles part ways much earlier than seen in Last Stand. plus they were seen together recruiting Jean as a child but in the glimpse of cerebro we get, we seen a young Storm, and it’s safe to assume she and Jean are about the same age so either Jean stayed 12 for like 3 decades or the timelines have shifted 😂but then when the next movie came out, Day of Future Past- the changed it to being prequels. lol both ways you’re gonna have gaps in the timeline because retconning this movie into a prequel leaves some questions

Alicia Cue

my oh my i’m so excited for you to watch this! seeing this movie in theaters was like someone threw ice water on the face of the franchise 😂 i mean this movie completely revitalized the franchise. Michael Fassbender, and James McAvoy are PERFECT as a young Charles and young Eric. this movie also introduces some of my favorite comic book characters in Emma Frost and Hazezel. ugh just love love love this movie

Alicia Cue

🤣🤣

Bungus Fungus

ya i was like 7, and really stupid

PumpkinPanic

Aw, bless 😂

Bungus Fungus

Please watch How to train your dragon, sing movies and Moana 2 <3

Aleksander Jørgensen

I absolutely love the prequels, they are wonderful. You should also watch the 2 Wolverine movies, the first one gives you his backstory, it’s amazing.

Elizabeth Baker

As a Cuban, and as a stupid child watching this movie, i thought this was real, i was so scared at the end.

PumpkinPanic

About that...you've got a point, young Oscar. Now if you're interested in more 'mutant' content, you might enjoy "Heroes" or "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."

Jim Schmitz

Ooooo ! Day 69: of suggesting ( my girl 1991)

Emilie D Fredriksen

I´ve been waiting for this movie, in my opinion the prequels are better then the original ones, without saying that those are bad. Wish you all a great day :D

Big Bob

Bro, all these uploads! We're all spoiled happy little marshmallows 🥰
