Friends S8 Ep: 9 & 10 - FULL REACTION

I loved having Brad Pitt show up as a spiteful victim to Rachel's High school bullying. The whole thanksgiving episode was so much fun and Phoebe went so far off the rails for some tickets! Enjoy :)

Friends S8 Ep: 9 & 10 - FULL REACTION

Comments

is anyone else screen not giving them the full screen option lol

Cason

loving this beard 🫦

Lucas CabralRosa

I love these episodes. Can’t wait for the next ones. Day 51: of suggesting (my girl 1991)

Emilie Fredriksen

the little stubble look is so cute on you btw lol love your reactions again. You are one of the best reactors on here.

Jeanette Dawe

I've seen every episode of Friends more times than I can count on every appendage that I have. Haha. The more I watch it the more I cringe at most episodes and how inappropriate some of the situations and the dialogue was. I still love it but there is no way this show could air now and get away with probably 75% of the dialogue and plots lol.

Debbie

I always liked her movies before all of that happened. But, at that time there were just so many things about her that rubbed me the wrong way. And, Jennifer Aniston has always been one of my favorite actresses. So It bothered me more than it would have had it been a different set of people probably.

Debbie

I have recently been impressed with Brad's performance in "Once Upon a Time ...in Hollywood".

Jim Schmitz

To be fair, if Monica cooked a small turkey we wouldn't have gotten Joey in the maternity pants.

Jim Schmitz

I LOVE the first Ocean's movie

Rhetorical Thrill

I think Brad Pitt is hilarious in this 😂 His style of humor in this and the Oceans movies is great. He is definitely a good actor, but my understanding is he just enjoys being a part of movies more than just acting specifically …he has produced SO many! This is totally my fave Thanksgiving episode; it’s just so fun. Also, Chandler and Monica’s back and forth during the Boots episode is absolute gold lol

Heather Geer

I really enjoy these 2 episodes. I am not a fan of brad Pitt, nor do I find him attractive, but I do think he is funny in the episode. It's one of my favorite thanksgiving episodes. The other episode is funny too. I could care less about Joey but I do think that episode with his sister is funny. And I really wish we had Sting cameo. I totally get the attraction to him!

Susan Stork

this season's thanksgiving episode and next season's thanksgiving episode are my absolute favorite

Oscar, you do know that Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston were together during the filming of Friends (they were married from July 29, 2000 to October 2, 2005). This episode was shot November 2nd 2001, about a year into their marriage.

Purple Cowboy

Traditional tv series in the US aired as 1 year = 1 season, yes. Typically the season began in September and went through May, with 20-24 episodes per season. I suppose it's still like that, but I haven't watched regular tv in years so I'm not sure. I wish I didn't like eating. I've had quite the opposite problem my whole life 🤣

Rhetorical Thrill

And watching this with adult eyes now, I’m also cringing at the inappropriate relationship between a minor and an adult with Ross being in high school and the librarian. I understand this is more than 20 years old, but yikes.

Teej

To be fair, she's an amazing actress. Much better than Brad honestly. And I respect her humanitarian work. But the fact that this was the second time she started a relationship with a married man (the first being Billy Bob Thornton) never sat right with me.

Heida

I was so excited when I found out he was the guest star in this episode. I loved both of them. When he cheated on her, I was so disgusted. I was 100% team Jennifer and I refused to watch any movies that BP or AJ were in for years. I honestly still don't know if I have seen any of her movies since. No interest at all.

Debbie

I believe Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt were married at this point.

Teej

You look so good with the beard Oscar! I've never been a big fan of Brad Pitt as an actor nor have I ever understood why he's considered so attractive (I'm not blind but he just never did it for me), but a good dramatic role of his is The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. And I absolutely love him in this! Especially since he wasn't used to being on a sitcom, I thought he did a great job. His delivery on the line "Typical. Rachel Green. Queen Rachel does whatever she wants in her little Rachel land" and the flick killls me every time 🤣 (it also reminds me of when Ross said "you're off in Rachel land doing your Rachel thing" when she lost Marcel in 1x19). Of course, what made this even funnier is the fact that he and Jennifer Aniston were married at the time (they had been married for about a year and a half when the episode aired). Then you probably the gist of what happened, that is, he had an affair with Angelina Jolie when they were in Mr. and Mrs. Smith together. Brad was nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his appearance in this episode. While promoting it, NBC didn't mention Brad and even blurred his face in ads while teasing a high-profile guest star. Though it had previously been reported that he would appear in the season and most media outlets correctly predicted he was the mystery guest star. Entertainment Weekly incorrectly reported that he would appear in flashback scenes wearing a fat suit. Also, Brad's character is named Will. His full name is William Bradley Pitt. Also, I assume rent was less back then but Monica was also paying less because she was subletting her grandma's apartment. Remember Treeger once threatened to have them evicted when Joey had those dance lessons with him. I've never bought shoes or clothes of any kind that costs that much and I don't understand why anyone would ever do that. Also, this is the exact reason I don't wear heels or generally don't wear clothes that make me uncomfortable in spite of society's standards on women especially to look good and "sexy". The ones who invented things like heels and bras must've just hated women! When I was younger, the "The Police? A reunion?" went over my head because I didn't know it was an actual band Sting was in 😂 Btw, Phoebe was parody-ing The Police's song Roxanne. Also, that IS Sting's actual wife, Trudie Styler. They are still married and have 4 kids. They do have a son named Jake but he was born in 1985 which would make him 7 years older than Ben. However, the show is actually referring to their son, Giacomo ('Jack' in Italian), NOT their older son Jake. Giacomo would be Ben's age as he was born in 1995. Sting was on Rachel's list of celebrities she would be allowed to sleep with back in 3x05. E9 is called a "bottle episode" where the crew has a limited budget. This is why most of it takes place in Monica and Rachel's apartment and is also why it consists of mostly the main cast. Other bottle episodes are most of the Thanksgiving eps (1x09, 4x08, 6x09, 7x08, 9x08), 3x02 "TOW Where No One's Ready", 5x19 "TOW Ross Can't Flirt", 6x06 TOW On The Last Night", 7x01 "TOW Monica's Thunder" and 8x04 "TOW The Videotape". The "rumour" drew criticism from the Intersex Society of North America, a member of which wrote a strongly-worded letter of complaint to NBC, calling the episode "ignorant, insulting, degrading and absolutely unprofessional". The member urged the network to learn about intersex individuals via the Society's website and read an on-air apology before future episodes. Goofs/Contuinity errors: Since Monica and Chandler's wedding was in May and Rachel got pregnant a month before, at Thanksgiving she should be over 7 months along and "showing" much more than she is. Rachel says that she and Ross went out for two years, but in actuality they were together for a year (they were celebrating their one year anniversary when all the shit happened). Technically, Dina and Bobby's "wedding ceremony" has witnesses: Joey and Rachel, though maybe Joey doesn't count as the officiant. It's also still not legal without a marriage license. Monica could've just cooked a small turkey for her, Joey and Ross. And to answer your question: In the show itself, one season is about a year yes. Though as far as airing goes it was typically about 8 months.

Heida

As far as airing goes yes but in the show itself it's closer to a year.

Heida

I remember it being such a big deal when this episode aired originally because he and Jen had just recently gotten married.

Debbie

TV Seasons in the US were typically around 8 months -- starting in Sep/Oct, and going until May
