2024-12-28 01:10:47 +0000 UTCI never saw this one, I don't generally enjoy romance movies, but I shouldn't be surprised that this one was good, Nancy Meyers also did the two Father of the Bride movies with Steve Martin and they're my ultimate comfort watches. One romantic comedy I'd definitely recommend is called When Harry Met Sally, it's a great favorite of mine.

2024-12-27 02:40:13 +0000 UTCAnd on a separate note about The Holiday: I can't say enough how much I appreciate that the conflict never boiled down to tired interpersonal drama, miscommunication, etc that we so often see in a romance. It was always just about *inner* conflict, and people figuring out who they are and what they need. And the movie is so much better for it!!!

I have a suggestion that's definitely a different vibe than this, but since you said you're open to most things: today marks the 20th anniversary of the Boxing Day Indian ocean tsunami, and the movie 'The Impossible' is one of my underrated favorites. Very harrowing at times, but also a beautiful testament of the human spirit. And it features a stellar young Tom Holland in his film debut! If you haven't seen it already, it would be a great reaction :) Sending peace and well wishes to you and yours this holiday season. Hope you're taking some deserved time for yourself ❤️
