Toy Story 3 (2010) - FULL REACTION

I was so shocked at just how good this instalment was! I loved the prison escape narrative and the bittersweet theme of love and loss. Enjoy :)

Toy Story 3 (2010) - FULL REACTION

This one is actually my favorite of the TS movies. Now I must interject a bit of RL stuff (even though yes, this is completely fictional and not meant to be accurate, lol). That daycare center is seriously negligent! They should be checking *daily* that all toys in the rooms are age-appropriate. All it takes is one kid getting seriously injured (or worse) for there to be tragedy, potential lawsuits, and even possibly permanent closure of the daycare. I used to work in civil law, and one of our tasks was overseeing daycare centers to ensure they were maintaining proper standards in all things in order to protect the kids. So that's the one thing in *this* movie that keeps itching my brain, that apparently no one is ensuring toys are appropriate, or even supervising the kids who are playing, yikes! 😆

This movie made me cry too many times! I was one of those kids that constantly forgot their toys places. I'm so lucky I still have my favorite stuffed cat from childhood. She was shipped back from hotels twice, rescued from a gas station parking lot one christmas eve when she fell out of the car coming home from Grandma's house. The only other movie that made me feel so bad for inanimate objects was even more old school : Brave Little Toaster! If you need a good cry, thats always the one!

With all the Ken and Barbie this one had, it could be so fun if you some day watch the Barbie movie from last year with Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling! It's quite a perfect summer movie as well :D

They did a phenomenal job casting this movie. I think Andy is the same actor in all three of the OG trilogy, which is cool. The hedgehog is (unless I’m mistaken) voiced by Timothy Dalton, who’s played both James Bond and Rhett Butler. Ken is voiced by Michael Keaton, aka Batman. Barbie is voiced by Jodi Benson, who is Ariel in ”the Little Mermaid”. I also believe Spanish Buzz is voiced by the guy who actually plays Buzz in the Spanish dub. Spanish Buzz is one of my all-time favourites. I didn’t like the Demo Mode Buzz thing, however. We’ve done ”he thinks he’s an actual space ranger” in the first two movies already, it feels way overplayed here. I’m sorry I keep saying this, but you seriously should do a ”Kingdom Hearts” let’s play. The Toy Box part of KH3 is canon in the ”Toy Story” series, according to the people behind the movies. It takes place in-between TS2 and TS3. They did a spectacular job re-creating Andy’s home in the game, it’s incredibly fun to run around there as Sora with Donald, Goofy, and the TS gang at your side. Also, it has one of my all-time favourite Woody scenes. Just saying.

Oh yeah sorry I should probably update that. When I made the subscriptions, the $10 was intended just to get Friends or whatever long-term show I was watching. I just include everything else as part of the $5 one. Thankyou!

Oscar

New marshmallow here!I just subscribed to your patreon! And I’m wondering why the $5 membership can get access to the legend of korra and not friends? It’s said that $5 for films and $10 for film and tv show, yet somehow I can watch the latest friends update but not the previous ones? It’s all just kind of confusing.

100%, which is why i'm absolutely not excited at all about toy story 5 lol. not matter how hard i try just can't think of any way they could do something new with these characters that is impactful and justifies its existence, 4 was already pushing it and that turned out good luckily but come on now

ajanim

Told you this movie is god-tier. The best animated movie ever made

Xen

Ah yes, the first movie that turned a generation into hoarders 🤣 That toaster walked so Woody could run!

Rhetorical Thrill

There's nothing wrong with the story of 4 in and of itself. It's just that there was no possible way of doing another story with these characters that doesn't end up diminishing the impact of this one. I think the 4th one would have been great with new characters. They could branch off from this group and explore new stories with all kinds of toys in this world. I suppose it's easier and less risky to use established ones, but at a certain point it feels more like milking the cash cow dry.

Rhetorical Thrill

this was actually the first one of the three movies i saw, and i was so terrified about a kindergarden because of it, that i refused to go to my own the next days. (At least in my memory, but this movie came out 2010, and i wasn´t in kindergarden anymore at this time. So who knows why I have that memory, maybe a dream) But now i can laugh about it and i enjoy it, especially the ending

Big Bob

This one is so emotional!!

Heather Geer

Yep. This is the kind of movie that hits home for everyone, especially those who grew up with these characters. This came out a little bit before I graduated from high school. It made me and my sister cry in the theater. So much nostalgia and so many wonderful childhood memories these movies bring, and they’re just as entertaining to see as an adult.

Teej

I love this one 💖 Toy Story always hits, can’t wait for the fourth one!

Raquel Perodin

Same vibe here!

Another movie that I think you may enjoy if you haven’t already seen it is The Secret Life of Pets. Such an endearing animated film. It’s not Pixar. I believe it’s Illumination. Just popped into my head for some reason.

Teej

"Buzz, what do we do?!" "Ahm, fall with style?"

KaijinGarou

I'm curious, didn't the movie have any subtitles for when Buzz talked in Spanish or you just didn't show them to us somehow? Because I am actually Spanish and got every word but I don't know for the rest 😅. First time I watched it in Spanish and Buzz just spoke with an accent xD

KaijinGarou

This movie is also great and maybe the funniest of them all. Only problem I see is it's not as rewatchable as the others because it depends more heavily on the plot twist, but the first time is amazing. That ending will always be though. I didn't see the last one either, guess I'll do here, but I can already understand the complaints just by revisiting this finale. Feels like it shouldn't exist.

KaijinGarou

If I remember correctly, they got the same boy who played Andy in the first 2 movies to play him again. I was an adult when this movie came out and I cried like a baby at the end and now I’m crying again. I haven’t seen the 4th movie but heard about a couple of actors who leant the voice, so I’m looking forward to seeing it with you.

Tara

Oscar, It might be hard to find, but if you haven't seen The Brave Little Toaster, you should for sure give it a watch....Same team that made Toy Story and is essentially the same plot but with household objects instead of toys. It, like this movie, has some pretty dark scenes.

Citizenschnapps

I remember seeing this in theaters theater with my sister as a teenager. We grew up with these movies. There we were this teenager and young adult in a theater of mostly children, sobbing when they all hold hands as they’re about to go into the fire (at the time we didn’t know there’d be another film) and then again with the, “So long, partner.” Such an incredible movie.

Teej

I had forgotten how dark the themes of this one were. Especially that furnace scene. I guess thats why we nicknamed the movie "Schindler's Toybox" back then it came out.

Citizenschnapps

These movies are everything, and this third one came out at the perfect time for me! It released in Norway just two weeks after I moved across the country for school (bringing my favourite toy of course) and it was the first thing I watched in theatres there. Woody is genuinely one of my favourite characters ever, his character development in these three movies is a joy to watch every. single. time. I'm very excited to see how you feel about the 4th movie, as it's easily the most divisive (so far, we'll see how the 5th goes)! I hope you also watch the shorts and specials, mostly because they're just fun, but Toy Story of Terror is basically essential viewing in my opinion! :D

skauing

i think some people's tastes were soured on toy story 4 since it sort of cancels this as a conclusion, i definitely see where they're coming from but i think it serves as a beautiful little epilogue. excited to see you watch it :)

ajanim

This movie means the whole world to me! I love it so much. It's my favorite Pixar film. I cry at the ending every time. Woody is my favorite Pixar character, along with Buzz and Jessie too. I absolutely LOVE 'Toy Story 4'! I can't wait for you to watch that one. That one is also very special to me. Its probably my second favorite in the franchise after 3. There is also 2 Toy Story specials, 'Toy Story That Time Forgot' and 'Toy Story of Terror' that takes place between 3 and 4 if you want to watch those as well! There is also a 'Toy Story 5' in development that im super excited for!

JT

I remember when this came out. It was the day I graduated high school, my friends and I went to see it right after the ceremony and it hit me so hard. It was a parallel in my life.

Ryuichi

You should play toy story 3 the videogame

Liam

The ending to this fipm always gets me

Liam

This was such a special movie for me! This came out the year I graduated high school and my heart burst by the end of the movie. I had my own collection of toys just like Andy! Reminded me of those precious memories growing up. I ended up boxing some of those toys and sending them to my nephew. 🥹❤️

Pixar movie on Sunday morning while in bed, what more could I wish! This one made me cry like a baby when I first watch it. Let's see if you get emotional too 😁
