2024-06-16 21:12:25 +0000 UTCOscar, we have to remember that this movie is nearly 30 years old. Of course the animation, and even the story lines are going to improve over time for Pixar. But the story line here was based on tried and true story types. Friends to enemies, knowing your niche in life, all that stuff. We also have to remember that this movie though adults enjoy it just as much was aimed directly at kids. Kids won't psycho-analyse CID like adults will...most kids will just see Cid as mean, and he gets what he deserves, etc. I think this movie was actually media changing , and quite innovative for films when it came out. It also was a hint at just how important Pixar became to the film industry.

They have some of the highest scores I've ever seen on Rotten Tomatoes, including a perfect 100% for Toy Story 2 which is rightfully deserved. It's basically a perfect sequel, though many argue the 3rd is the best, or at least the emotional peak of the series. But yes, you're absolutely right....for being the VERY FIRST ATTEMPT at this style of film, they absolutely NAILED it. And it's especially fascinating knowing most of the people who worked on it weren't filmmakers or animators, they were just tech guys who knew how to use the software, and they basically just figured out how to animate and make a movie as they went. You should watch some Making Of content for this film sometime, it has a pretty interesting history.

If people aren’t liking it, maybe you could mix up the genres. Friends one day and then a regular movie another day and then an animated movie so that everyone gets what they like. I guess it depends on how often you want to post content. Some channels post every day and others post a few days a week etc. Keep up the great reactions! 😊

2024-06-13 01:08:38 +0000 UTCI remember when I saw this movie when it first came out in the theaters and I was in awe with the animation. I had never seen anything like it before. Yes, the animation has come a long way, but this will always hold a special place in my heart. I actually didn’t realize you hadn’t seen this movie when you didn’t recognize Rex the dinosaur standing next to Mike and Sully getting ready to cross the street at the end of Monsters Inc. Tom Hanks always tells the story of how he will meet a child and their parents say It’s Woody from Toy Story and of course the kids don’t believe it, so he tells them to close their eyes and he’ll say one of Woody’s popular lines and they get excited.

2024-06-12 22:09:20 +0000 UTCGreat reaction! I haven’t seen the 4th film, but of the three that I have seen TS2 is by far my favourite, and I would love to see you react to it. Truthfully I really don’t like Randy Newman, I think most of his songs are kind of ”eh”. However there are exceptions; he has written some songs I love. Like ”Friends From the Other Side” (”Princess and the Frog”) and a certain song from TS2, sung in the film by Sarah McLachlan. Unless I’m mistaken, the ”Toy Story” franchise is the only time Tom Hanks has done a sequel. His brother Jim voices Woody in other projects, which is kinda nice. I apologise for bringing this up again, but I would love to see you do a let’s play of the ”Kingdom Hearts” series. According to Pixar and the people behind ”Toy Story”, the KH3 storyline is canon, ”Toy Story 2.5”. Last but not least - so excited for ”Stranger Things”! I think you would love it. Honestly, ”Stranger Things 4” is one of the best seasons of any tv show, IMHO.

2024-06-12 21:58:39 +0000 UTCYes, first Pixar film AND first ever full length computer animated film! I just adore Pixar's "golden age" so so much. You can really feel the passion that went into this. And there's something to be said for the gambling that investors had in Pixar at its inception. Steve Jobs of all people was chairman and majority shareholder! I think there was enormous excitement but equal parts dread about how this project would land. If it didn't succeed, I bet the studio would have been dead on the spot. I can't even imagine the joy from these creators when it became such a hit. Just stellar storytelling, animation, character design, and good heavens the voice acting! It's fair to say that Tom Hanks is forever immortalized in the animation world, in addition the live action stage. There's fewer voice performances that are so iconic. What a legend. I'll never tire of Disney, Pixar, Dreamworks, any and all animated reactions! You have some of the best commentary and appreciation for what you watch, and I'm here for all of it :)
