Aladdin (1992) - FULL REACTION

This was probably the most exciting Disney film I've seen! So full of incredible songs that I wanted to jam to and the overall story was really endearing. Also, Robin Williams (took this movie from an 8 to a 10). Enjoy :)

Aladdin (1992) - FULL REACTION

Comments

This is the first Disney film I remember watching as a kid. The music is phenomenal and of course the Genie is my favorite. Years later when I figured out who Robin Williams is, I started watching other films Robin had completed. My favorite is Mrs. Doubtfire and I would recommend watching that film if you haven’t yet.

Casey McClure

Hope you watch The Princess and The Frog soon! You will love that movie for sure. One of the best disney princesses and princes, also couples in general. The way both characters develop over the chorus of the movie is amazing!

Tionne

I feel like The Princess and The Frog is very reminiscent of the Renaissance era of Disney movies with its animation! I hope you watch that one day soon especially since Tiana's Bayou Adventure is opening up at the Disney Parks this June! 🥰 🐸

David Griffin

Carpet really is one of the best animated characters in the Disney canon. Such an expressive character, with so many emotions, and he doesn’t have a face. When the sultan is building the tower of figurines, one of the figurines is Beast. I remember when Williams died, Eric Goldberg (Genie’s lead animator) drew a picture of a sky where the stars formed Genie’s face, and it said ”Genie, you’re free”. That made me cry. I think there’s also a version where the Disney company say a few words about Williams. Watching the Swedish dub these days is a little trippy. Mikael Samuelsson (Jafar) was the Phantom in the original Swedish production of ”the Phantom of the Opera”. Around 20 years later, Peter Jöback (Aladdin) was asked by Andrew Lloyd Webber to take on the role of Phantom at the West End. He’s since played Phantom in Stockholm and New York as well, and was asked to return briefly for the 30th anniversary on Broadway. So it’s Phantom v/s Phantom in the Swedish dub these days. I know I’ve already said this, but I would love to see you do a Let’s Play of ”Kingdom Hearts”. I know that’s not your normal style of content, but anyone who enjoys the Disney movies is likely to love the KH franchise. Plus I think you’d love the original characters and the story.

Tingeling

Absolutely, TENG is one of a kind (and incredibly meme- and quote worthy).

Tingeling

My favorite Robin Williams film is probably What Dreams May Come. I highly recommend it if you haven't seen it. It'll put you through some emotional turmoil but it's worth the journey. Just a really powerful supernatural drama with some fascinating themes about life, death, love, and family.....and more but I'd hate to spoil one the biggest aspects of it if you're not familiar with it.

Turnt SNACO

For me this one is the 👌

Mariia K

For your list of Disney Renaissance movies, I would like to recommend Rescuers Down Under. It is entirely underrated and it might be fun to see you react to an animated movie set in Australia. 😊

Emery Sea

The movie is really very bad. If he were to watch a version of Phantom, I would recommend the 25th anniversary recorded production at the Royal Albert Hall.

Emery Sea

One of the best parts of being a 90s kid is Robin Williams. Whether in Aladdin, Mrs. Doubtfire, Jumanji, or whatever else he did, he entertained us and made our days brighter.

CaseyD

Yup and they were smart enough to let the cook cook.

KaijinGarou

I too thought Yafar was using magic to change his appearance! He really is a master of disguise 🤔

KaijinGarou

I just did the first one for my channel and it was so delightful 💜

Rhetorical Thrill

It’s wonderful. It’s indescribably meaningful and has impacted me in a new way through every phase of my life.

Rhetorical Thrill

It was one of my childhood favorites even though it came out years before I was born. I almost had the opportunity to see it in theaters last year, but I didn't see it was showing until like 15min before it started and it was a 45min drive

Kitty Underwood

split opinion on it but i really enjoyed the live action adaptation of the movie, enough was the same with alot of great aditions to the story and charectors

utafoxy

truly i don't know a single person who has seen outside my family despite being a timeless movie

utafoxy

But if you’re in a funk right now, that one should maybe wait. I still recommend it, but if you’re not in the best headspace at the moment, I also recommend Jumanji which is highly entertaining and another Robin Williams classic. Also, I love your reactions and very much appreciate your thoughts and feelings on each film. Thank you for your vulnerability and openness. It’s very much appreciated.

Teej

And Ella Enchanted

melissa.xoxo

I think he probably did that one?

melissa.xoxo

I was a teenager, I was obsessed too lol

melissa.xoxo

Yes! That movie is a masterpiece

Ashlyn

It’s such a joy to revisit these Renaissance films ☺️Another animated movie (not Disney) that has a similar really sweet message about how being yourself is always enough is The Peanuts Movie (2015) - a solid choice for whenever you might need a little pick-me-up 😌

Katie DeFonzo

Glad you enjoyed, Aladdin is in my top 3 disney films with Hercules and Beauty/Beast. You should check out the two sequels they are both good especially the King of Thieves (3rd film)

James McCarthy

I love this one so much. I wrote my final paper for one of my courses in college on this movie, with an entire section on the masterpiece that is Carpet. It's not technically Renaissance, but I think you'd love (and I'd love to see you do) A Goofy Movie. It's without question my favorite Disney movie ever!

Rhetorical Thrill

He would do such a good job with that movie. So few people react to it, and even fewer actually fully appreciate it.

Rhetorical Thrill

My friend, an addiction to animated films is something I would never dream of complaining about :) Love love love the journey you've been on with all these!

Anna H

Yesss definitely watch this

Kitty Underwood

oh noooo, whyyyy lol

Kitty Underwood

Hell yeah 😎 And this main song ))

Mariia K

He’s only human!

Nicole Colombatto

My parents told me that seeing this together in December 1992 at the movie theater was such a special date night for them… and I was born in Sept. 1993, so it’s always made me feel a little weird about the film 🙈😂

Nicole Colombatto

That film awakened something in me at the ripe age of 11 when it came out! A leveled-up obsession with music, romance and tragedy. I was insufferably obsessed lol

Nicole Colombatto

Robin Williams did indeed improv quite a bit in this movie.

Raquel Perodin

Uhh yes, a reaction to Dead Poets Society would be amazing!

Sarah

Oh yes, this is by far my favorite of the old Disney films! And the soundtrack is 👌👌

Heather Geer

If you want to laugh I highly recommend The Emperor’s New Groove (animated). It’s really unlike anything else and has its own special brand of absolute hilarity. Voice cast is exceptional.

TE

This was my favorite movie as a kid!

Stephanie

You should watch The Last Unicorn :D

Kitty Underwood

with sounds is better but each to there own

DarkBlondeWatch

Also, another Robin Williams film that is one of my favorites that I recommend is Dead Poets Society if you haven’t seen it yet. I will say that it is heart-wrenching, but it is a really great film and some of Robin’s best work, and that’s saying a lot because everything he touched was magic.

Teej

Hey! I was just wondering if it was possible to upload your videos like you used to. Without the sound. I prefer being able to choose my soundlevels on my copy. And I like being able to watch the movie on fullscreen with your video on a second screen. (Ofc I don't care if you upload two different versions. One with movie sound and one without. Or just adding a link underneath to a version with no sound) I hope that's not asking too much. But I'd like to know if that's something you could do going forwards, and if you can't I would like to know as well ^^'

JiaHailstorm

Yes! Phantom of the Opera is slept on and terribly underrated.

Edualy Munoz

It's honestly so contagious how happy you get whenever Robin Williams appears :)

Sarah

I’m a musical theatre performer here, and I admit I’m very much a nerd about how films are made and all of the behind the scenes stuff… Fun fact… The opening scene with the street merchant was unscripted. They had Robin Williams at a table with all of these objects and just let him go.

Teej

"When did this come out, 1992? Several years before I was born" welp, I'm old. This came out one year after I was born lol

Kitty Underwood

TEN THOUSAND YEARSSSS!! Idk if you've ever watched "Cracked After Hours" on youtube, but they did an episode about this movie that was pretty good

Kitty Underwood

I had my picture taken with Aladdin and Jasmine in Disney World a couple months ago 😊

melissa.xoxo

coco

DarkBlondeWatch

Yesssss my childhood favoriteeeeeee!!! Takes on all sorts of new meanings watching it as an adult, too. Really excited to watch this with you! Your uploads never disappoint!!

Turnt SNACO

Oscar, have you ever seen the Phantom of the Opera 2004? Highly recommend 👌 Noone made this reaction (

Mariia K

Agreed 👍

Mariia K

I highly recommend the Night at the Museum series. Robin Williams is in all of them. History and humor all on one!
