This is the show's 100th episode and Lisa Kudrow's favourite. Fun fact: Ross giving the lamp to Chandler while on the phone with Emily wasn't scripted. David Schwimmer unintentionally handed it to Matthew Perry who's reaction fitted perfectly with the scene. The Fonzie character Phoebe's doctor keeps mentioning is one of the main characters from the show Happy Days. Also, the Mork character Rachel mentions is the character Robin Williams played on Mork and Mindy. I actually really liked Emily before the whole wedding drama. She was a breath of fresh air and despite not knowing each other for long, her and Ross had great chemistry and worked well together. I feel like they were trying too hard to make us not like her and root for Ross and Rachel because Emily's actress, Helen Baxendale, was pregnant and couldn't be on the show anymore. And it worked cuz I used to hate Emily and thought she was being so unreasonable. But now as I've grown older I emphasise with her and understand where she was coming from. She had every right to be upset, angry and hurt after being humiliated like that and it's understandable she became insecure around Rachel. That being said, I think demanding Ross stop seeing Rachel was not only extreme but very unrealistic. If Rachel had just been friends with Ross it technically could have worked, but she was also best friends (and roommate) with his sister and his other closest friends. So in order for that to work, they ALL would've had to stop seeing Rachel or Ross would've had to stop seeing ALL of them, including HIS OWN SISTER. Realistically, that would never have worked. Plus, the issue wasn't Rachel; it was Emily not trusting Ross anymore. How were they gonna make the marriage work if she couldn't trust him? Even if Phoebe's donation hadn't gotten Joey on TV she was stilll doing it to prove a point. I don't know if there is such a thing as a selfless good deed either, but from the show the closest anyone has come (in my opinion) is when Ross not only encouraged Carol to fix things with Susan before the wedding but also walked her down the aisle. Lastly, Chandler saying that Monica is the one who made him the best sex she's ever had is a nice callback to when she taught him about a woman's 7 erogenous zones to help him in his relationship with Kathy.

I completely agree, Emily gets unfairly maligned. She’s not entirely reasonable, but it is very easy to understand where she’s coming from. She knew about Ross’ past with Rachel and was okay with it at first, trusting him when he said that was over. Then he said Rachel’s name at the altar, and was about to take her on their honeymoon. I don’t know if Emily doesn’t want to give up on the marriage out of love for Ross, or because she feels it would be less humiliating if they worked it out in the end, or a bit of both. I do think they could have tried to reach a compromise though, like maybe Ross doesn’t hang out with Rachel alone or something like that, but I’m not sure I would have felt too willing to compromise if I were Emily. I do wonder what would have happened in this storyline if Emily’s actress hadn’t gotten pregnant and reasonably didn’t want to go back and forth to LA to film the show.

Ohh matey, I wasn't talked about friends. But more so responding to the creator's question towards the end. That being said, If i was talking about friends I would agree with you :-)

you forget that ross actually said rachel’s name at the alter, some who he loved and dated in a serious relationship. Emily was okay with rachel before that whole situation, until ross betrayed her, and then to top it off seeing them try to go on their honeymoon together, Emily had every right to have that ultimatum. it’s called boundaries, people are allowed to set boundaries in relationships, and express their feelings, that doesn’t necessarily make them wrong. it also depends on what they’re asking of course, but here Emily wasn’t in the wrong.

I need you to post these reactions a lot faster, I can't wait for the next one :( <3

Ive watched this multiple times but i just noticed now Emily is actually still wearing her wedding ring.

No credits ending reaction of Phoebe’s birth episode?!? - it pertains to Chandler and baby Chandler. You may have stopped the episode before watching the credits? Also curious to know if you were aware of the tv shows pertaining to Fonzie (played by the beloved Henry Winkler): - Happy Days - Mork & Mindy Tv shows before my time too.

Kal

all these episodes are so good lol

When Monica says Chandler is the best she's ever had and Chandler says she makes him the best it's true: remember she taught him about all the erongenous zones when he was with Kathy so essentially she taught him to be the best So many fans hate Emily, like she's been named one of the most hated characters in TV and I don't understand it, I absolutely don't blame her. Ross (and Rachel too) makes such stupid decisions in relationships. I can't blame Emily for feeling so insecure and not trusting Ross being around Rachel. Idk I just think Emily gets too much hate

To answer your question: When you are in a relationship, trust is everything. You don't deal in ultimatums and have people choose someone over someone else. People that do such a thing, lack trust.. and thats something you should work on. You can work on that by putting your trust into someone and communicate back and forth. If you can't do that for whatever reason.. then that is that. End the relationship. Heal, reflect and learn. Before you commit to someone new.

I never liked how Ross’s dilemma was “lose one of my best friends or be divorced twice before I’m 30”…shouldn’t it have been “or I lose the woman I’m in love with”?

Heather Geer

I just adore Monica and Chandler, they are just too cute. Your right that they are so not toxic and I love that. I also really love they they communicate well and don’t just keep it bottled up and express how they’re feeling.

Raquel Perodin

I love the moment where Ross hands Chandler that lamp, it's so random, and actually improvised by David Schwimmer, which just makes it even better!

Samuel

Keep up the reactions, it's like performance art 👏🏻

Tom

Joey is a golden retriever. Loyal, everyone's friend. But easily distracted by food or sex.

Tom

Monica's hair isn't messed up 😂 that was the fashion. I know, what were we thinking 👴🏻

Tom

Yeah love this show and also you should watch Seinfeld because that's great too.😁😁👍👍
