YourNightlyRamble - 'Dominant Vs Submissive'
Added 2024-11-16 18:00:08 +0000 UTCI'm not entirely sure still if my point was made well enough because I don't want people to take from this that I think as a whole the submissive role is easy for everybody to play as.
My point is personally after years of taking the lead, the submissive role that I occasionally partake in is almost effortless compared to trying to make the role as a dom feel new and refreshing every time. I can guarantee that a lot of VAs who play the submissive role as their main role would find being a dom just as refreshing and easy as I would find a sub role to be.
I would like to read thoughts about this if anyone is up for it. Hell, maybe this whole rant is the realization that Nightly might be what people label a 'Sub-Leaning Switch?'
Lastly, I'm also thinking I could be talking about these terms very loosely. What does being a dom or a sub mean? What scenarios am I referring to? I guess it's subjective.

I wonder what that is? Because for me as a sub, I want to feel and express how I'd like the tenderness and care that anyone else would receive.

2024-11-17 06:17:15 +0000 UTCI think overall, there needs to be a healthy balance on both sides of acting the parts to keep it (in some fashion) refreshing. As you put it and how I said it in the ramble, you can only record so much of the same thing before you want to make something else. Oh, and this is something I failed to specify as well. It's specifically recording the same role back to back to back instead of writing/recording a different role in-between those audios.

I think what I care about the most from the audios in the first place is whatever kind of scenario I can put the listener in and make it convincing. Now thinking about it, I might write an audio based on this ramble and have it go something like, "Honey, I love you, but.. maybe tonight we can do things different? Maybe, if you'd like to try.. you take charge?"

But don't like it because it triggers my "Tics." 🫣😳 By the way I am pretty sure the popping sound you make is not a tic just something that happens.... at unwanted times when you want don't want it to.

However, your submissive voice speaks to me in an entirely different way, offering a man's perspective that isn't often able to be articulated. I hope, dear Nightly, that you continue playing both roles, and would definitely have no objection to you being my sub a little more often 🥵😍🔥💋

2024-11-16 21:11:25 +0000 UTCAs a voice actor, I totally get where you're coming from Channeling the energy of a dominant character can be challenging, especially when writing them. For me, voicing, writing and singing for an older, confident dom woman is fun but there is so much of the character i can voice before i find myself drawn back to the adorably sweet, soft submissive younger male character that I also voice, write and sing for there's something so refreshing about bringing their vulnerability to life, having a sub tone when speaking or them feeling tension in a intimate scenerio with the dom maintaining the pace and tension by saying things a certain way. Balancing the two in a script can be tough, especially since there’s so much depth to the dom role that i think about like their personality, way of talking, the relationship, and how intimate they are with the sub. But tho the dom role is fun In someways the appeal of the sub still calls me back. It’s all about that dynamic tension. Finding the right moments to showcase both characters. But over all I get it nightly it gets hard for us VA's

2024-11-16 21:05:18 +0000 UTCThis is honestly such an interesting thing to hear! I'd call myself a switch too, definitely more heavy on the subby side though. I did, however, really enjoy the cruise audio, or any audio of you letting the listener take control, for that matter. Personally, I really appreciate the switch every once in a while and could easily have it be more frequent. And I wouldn't even say it's just because I would enjoy taking charge in real life from time to time. I'd like to believe I just genuinely enjoy listening to any new stories from you. Whether I could really see myself in them or not. Probably because I enjoy the creativity and world building but also your voice in general, not necessarily just the plot in itself. It's more about the entire piece than just parts of it. Not entirely sure this makes any sense to you though, haha! English isn't my first language, so it's a little hard to get my point across but I tried! 🥰
