Rudy Reference Sheet

2/3 Of the characters I will make proper reference sheets for in this pilot I'd like to start.

Rudy had a lot of changes before I settled on this look and even where he's at now, might be likely of change. Primarily because of his hair. It could be difficult to keep track of, but at the same time, it doesn't phase me too much.

Originally he wore Khaki shorts and a navy blue shirt with maroon, then it was changed to a long-sleeved, button-down, collared, white shirt with suspenders and brown slacks. It was changed almost immediately because it felt out of place for him and a little too well dressed. To have a spiffy young man dressed arguably better than his mother that doesn't put a lot of effort into her son. lol

First it was Cloo's gloves and not wanting to reveal her hands and now it's Rudy and not revealing his eyes. There's this brief feeling of anxiousness. That having these blatant secrets to the characters already could portray this cartoon as one trying too hard to have mystery.

I shut that feeling down when in actuality it's just a style choice for Rudy and Cloo's time with the gloves are not going to be a secret that lasts forever. That and the cartoon itself won't pay any attention to those details, so you're not going to focus on it. The only real reasons to bulletin those details are for if I ever do need help animating or incase of the occasional fan art that I do receive via Twitter and to help keep the characters 'canon' to how I visualize them.
