Hey everyone,

This is a quick one for you to help us out about opening a Discord chat for all the Patrons here. We mentioned doing it, but it would be pointless if you weren't on board. So, here's a quick check!

Should we have one? Should we have it right now? Say your piece in this poll! (only one choice this time)

We agree with you on this one. The catch seems to be the amount of people that would not use the chat. If it's just a handful, then I guess it wouldn't be much of a problem. But what if it's over half of you? And does the number really matter? If just a few of you want it, then maybe the chat should exist anyway. On the other hand, maybe it shouldn't, since the benefit would reach only a small part of the community. To be completely fair, we're not sure if we understand how those chats work. In our limited experience, if they don't get "critical mass" at the start they usually become a desert wasteland and die out. And rolling out a chat that nobody uses and just lingers on like a rotting corpse on the living room is worse than having none, we think. That's our only concern about the whole thing. But then, maybe if it was developer-centric, the curious few that want to participate more will have us to talk to most of the time, it could work. At least when the deadlines are not roaring at us.

So long as you make the discord link easily accessible, I think the benefit of being to express your artistic points and ideas outweigh having a handful of people miss out on that part of the creative process.

Yeah, making it a a secondary channel to post minor updates about our progress would be cool. Our fear is that if not enough people are on board, than it's possible that later in the future if we say something like: "as we've shown on the Discord chat..." or whatever, that would feel like missing out on stuff, which is something we really want to avoid. On the other hand, talking about stuff we like is half the fun of liking something in the first place, so idk...

I'd like to see a discord chat so that we could discuss the new content both when it comes out, and while it's being made. I'd rather that than sitting here twiddling our thumbs (or others things, you do you) until it does :)
