Original Pitch for Cinema Swirl
Added 2019-08-04 11:38:58 +0000 UTCI managed to dig up this little curio for you, it's the original pitch/idea for the possible structure of what would become Cinema Swirl after Kefin & I had chatted about doing a podcast. This was sent to Kefin on June 17th 2014!
---
-Section 1: Introduction (perhaps just first episode, or a very condensed version thereafter)
A brief explanation of the format of the show. Sam hasn’t seen loads of the big classic films. He is a media graduate; he probably should have seen them by now. Darkest timeline: Sam has seen the films, he’s just repressed a great deal of his childhood so can’t remember them.
-Section 2: Pre-film
Establish the film of the episode. Discuss what Sam knows of it/has absorbed from popular culture. Expectations, misunderstandings, goofs, questions.
-Section 3: The Film
A few ways this could go, I think. (So this could be quite long, or quite short)
1. Watch the film, keep stopping to remark on stuff that’s happening, recording those remarks and compiling them into something listenable.
2. Watch the film, record our entire watching of the film, complete with a sort of commentary, edit that into something listenable
3. Watch the film, maybe make notes/just chat over it a bit, and then go back to those notes or ideas at the end
-Section 4: Post-film
Thoughts and reactions to what we just watched, basically a review.
