This was always going to happen.

Well, it is what it is, guys. After reading the comments, I am taking a day off.
If you truly hate the direction of the story, that is a shame, but I decided to write what I want. It kinda worked out for me so far, ya know?
I am not particularly happy with these few last chapters, but they are written, they are posted, and they are here to stay. I should have condensed it to 2-3 chapters and made a proper list of what I wanted to convey in them because, yeah, they are a bit aimless and not at all to the point. So, for the guy who suggested that I am an incompetent writer, yeah, sure, I fucked up.
I can only do my best, and if my best is not enough, then that's just how life rolls sometimes. For those who like my work or are yet undecided... just let me cook and make your judgment once the content is written.
I understand that some people want the MC to go rogue, and some want him to stay in Konoha. But I didn't spend the last few chapters describing how hostile the political landscape of Konoha is to the MC to have him go 'Uno reverse!' and usurp the Hokage.
Say, he kills Hiruzen and Danzo. So what? Tsunade is the Hokage. Should he kill her, too? He would have to kill a significant part of the village's strongest ninja to successfuly usurp the Hokage position. And his political woes would STILL not disappear. This is not a question of might. Even Hiruzen was pretty much screwed over by village politics, and he was called the God of Shinobi. He could take over, but he can't really start slaughtering clans and councilmen left and right.
Not to mention, the world is on the brink of war. That is the entire point of the reformation of the Konoha-Suna alliance. And Ren should start a coup during that situation? Really?
As for the suggestion of showing Konoha his teleportation seal... what would that really solve? Sure, Ren would have become possibly the most important asset of the village. But that still would not make his opposition disappear. He still wouldn't be able to implement the changes he wants. THAT is the option where he would simply roll over and decide to simply live a comfortable life, the future be damned.
I actually DID try to make a situation where the MC is fucked either way. And that's on purpose, for fuck's sake. So many people are whining about how if I go this or that way, it would be garbage. About how it would be bad to add Temari. About how it would be bad to NOT add Temari.
So, yeah. I am just going to do my thing. Those who will like it will stay, those who won't, I hope you find another good fanfic to entertain you. Don't be shy to share the name if you do. Maybe we will see each other again, maybe not. Who knows.
The comments, some of them were scathing, Dull Pen, I am looking at you, haha. Alright, it's okay. No hard feelings. This incompetent write-, ahem, anyway. The comments were okay. I am not unhappy about them. They made me change the pace, if nothing else and that was probably needed.
I was about to drag it out for a bit more, making several details of Konoha's political situation clearer, but I decided that you guys likely don't care about that. Hence, I am going to move the plot forward instead and go straight into some retaliation from the MC and decide his future path.
Now a SPOILER ALERT for those who want to know a bit more:
.
.
.
.
.
Yes, Ren will go to Suna.
Choke on it. (I am sorry, I could not help myself.)
One guy commented, he had an inkling this was going to happen from the previous interaction of MC and Temari. And yes, this was ALWAYS the plan. I have plans for Suna. Big ones.
Suna is desperate, and they have problems. Problems Konoha does not have. Problems that Ren can solve with his seals. I am going for a full-out kingdom (or a village, really) builder that will shift into an unexpected war because butterfly shenanigans will happen, and I feel CAN NOT do that with Konoha because of politics.
Ino and Hinata have to stay in Konoha, too, so Konoha will still be a part of the story.
So, let me cook?
.
.
Honestly, feel free to state your opinions in the comments. Even if they might burn me a bit, they kinda do affect the story in some diminished manner. You wouldn't believe how many times I got an inspiration or changed what was going to happen in the upcoming chapter because of some off-handed comment in the previous one.
But I am not willing to budge on the direction I intend to head in. If that turns out badly... I guess I will only have myself to blame.

2025-10-10 09:50:22 +0000 UTCI'm reading another fic now where the mc is a self insert into suna and I am fine with it. It makes sense that his abilities will help suna out more than folks expect. I just hope it isnt dozens of angsty conversation chapters in suna without doing anything. Because the mc is good at doing things and solving problems and having him not solve problems for a whole bunch of chapters is frustrating. And honestly, what good is keeping Danzo alive doing for the main character. If his plan was to strengthen konoha, you can't effectively do it if mister get every possible konoha kage level ninja killed is alive (danzo). And with how strong in this novel Ino's mind walking is, kidnapping danzo to steal his intelligence and find proof of his crimes and exposing then before killing him and then using the intelligence to deal with any outstanding root issues is incredibly doable. Like so feasibly doable that it feels odd they havent done it. I am not saying anything about sarutobi, just danzo. You can kill danzo realistically with the skill sets hinata, ino, and the mc right now, and presumably do it in a way that is not traceable, i.e. sneaking a teleportation seal on danzo to pull him into a pre-prepared room out of the village. Edit: i like the next several chapters after this authors note. *thumbs up emoji here*

2025-10-05 07:40:42 +0000 UTCRen is only one person and the clans do not like new players. Suna does not have a clan problem, and kanoha is blind to suna's failures partly because kanoha has seals and ren has hidden how good he is with them.

2025-09-13 05:55:29 +0000 UTCMy problem is it feels very wishy washy, hes powerful enough to do what he wants and tell everyone to get fucked at this point. If the girls arnt going, whys he even bothering, there clans are there so you dont have to fully break contact with konoha. It feels like your trying to force the story in a direction instead of pushing it that way, with the charcters and the world and what not, if that make sense?

2025-09-13 04:09:22 +0000 UTCI appreciate your story and hope to see you continue. I don't like the direction the story is taking but I'm willing to follow along and I'm sure I will continue to enjoy with more chapters. Just rough reading chapter to chapter compared to the complete story available to power through the uncomfortable portions. I hope you continue the story soon :)
