Random answer. Because you are smarter than the author. ... Honestly, though, he can't make hundreds of clones like Naruto. Nor can he teleport instantly with seals like Minato. Even his current, swirly Obito-like teleportation takes a second. His transportation seal, which imitates Minato's teleportation to a seal mark, takes a dozen seconds to activate. It is unusable in combat. So, marking his clones with it is pretty much useless as of now.
