This playlist is inspired by feeling like an absolute psycho from fatigue at the Atlanta airport at 8 am, AKA 5am LA time, AKA two hours of sleep.
But I’m rocking the outfit from the pod today and someone asked to take a picture of me at the gate to send to their mom cause they liked it so much. You know I SERVED in that photo.
This playlist is a lil pump up. For a morning walk. Or a strut through terminal D when you feel like you might just be lucid dreaming. Or on your way to kick chemo’s ass. Whatever the occasion.
1) Yung Gravy: I love this dumbass. Chip introduced me to him forever ago and I’ve never looked back. His voice has a great tone. He looks good in vintage fur. He celebrates older women and is friends with Martha Stewart. I luh him.
2) Boney M is legend and you’ve probably heard one of their songs trending on TikTok despite them being from the 70s and surely getting no residuals.. Do yourself a favor a YouTube them performing live. More on them later cause their story is so wiiild.
3) I saw Peaches my sophomore year of college at a 100 person club in Chapel Hill and I’ve never looked back. What a bad ass, fierce, zero fucks gender bending artist who is just being so deliberately themselves. Ugh I love Peaches. 🍑
4) Flyana Boss. These two are gems and I can’t wait to see why they do. This song makes me wanna be sixteen and blast it on some shitty Honda Accord speakers as I desperately try to find a place to party that night in my tiny, boring town.
5) This song is 5 years old and I still get hyped like it’s new. City Girls are blunt and straight up nasty and I love it. ‘stripes on my ass so they call this pussy tigger’? POETRY. Five stars to listen to while waiting in line at Auntie Anne’s 🥨 for coffee cause the Starbucks line was too long.
6) I can’t be physically in Atlanta and not include Ludacris. But, like, a B side. This song kills me because he really doubled down on loving Goldmember from Austin Powers. It’s SO weird and it’s a bop. Also Flyana Boss references Austin Powers multiple times too? His cultural impact knows no bounds. Yeah babbbby.
7) Ok I’m insane for this one. It’s literally a song told from the perspective of a horse. Y’all I need sleep. This song will make you feel like you want to strap on chaps and straight jacket.
8) I couldn’t leave you on ‘My Barn, My Rules’ 🤣 This is a classic. It pumps me up every time. Also, ending a song with the lyric ‘see you later’? Chefs kiss!
Let’s fuckin gooooooo.
