After the marathon of lip syncs we find out that Eureka is back in the competition. She’s got NEW LIFE (alert). But, we gotta give credit to the fun run that Silky had. It made for good TV. And we love a sweet lil desperate 'YOU SURE??’ moment before leaving the runway.
It's a new day in the werkroom and Ginger took the words right out of my typing by calling out that Ru looks like a walking Secret Garden.
Eureka gets a slightly-faux-excited welcome back to the werkroom from the girls and, honestly, I’d be faux excited too if the girl that just got voted off got welcomed back 5 min later meaning all the work you just put into the last challenge meant jack shit. (Side note: Jack Shit isn’t a bad boy drag name hmm)
But we’re off with a mini challenge pride photo shoot where the queens have to customize a pride perfect outfit using Levis clothing.
One by one they each come in looking like how I felt coming home from Vegas. But it turns out Kylie is the winner! And it doesn’t really mean anything! Right? Unless I missed something? I thought maybe she'd be in charge of picking the line up for the maxi challenge monologues but no? Cool! Moving on!
Speaking of, the maxi challenge is to create monologues based on true stories from their lives representing some aspect of C.U.N.T. …. Ohhhh! Have they ever had a challenge like this? It’s ...interesting … I feel like it’s going to get real deep real quick …or real awkward and boring real slow. Let’s find out!
They start prepping their monologues and they talk to Eureka about her being back in the competition and TKB is feeling a type of way. But it makes sense - this shit is frustrating and the maxi challenge seems obviously more up Eureka’s alley than TKBs. It's almost like the producers planned this...the...whole...time...? WHO KNOWS.
Moving on again! I love that Ra’jah walks in for their rehearsals and calls Alec and Jermaine the lost Jackson brothers lolol. But it all falls apart after that. Woof watching them rehearse monologues gives me the same cringe I get when trying to put an audition on tape - wow, I'm so bad at it and it’s so stupidly embarrassing.
But Kylie and TKB seem much more at ease than I thought they’d be! Okay, that's nice! Ginger might be a bit too rehearsed, meanwhile Eureka is going full NotTooDeep worst pants shitting story but using WAY MORE than three words! It has the possibility to be a little too shitty but I hope she sticks with it!
The queens are prepping for the show and, again, TKB is going full TKB by over analyzing and getting in her own way/feelings. But then she and Eureka share a sweet moment when Eureka tells her how special their play flirting has been to her. I know it’s sincere and sweet but part of me thinks “look at her already doing her theater kid acting warm ups with this moment lol”
Ohhhh, Ru’s polka dot look on the MainStage is CUUUUUTE.
TKB goes first and she looks great…her monologue is fun but is she kinda rushing but ohhh the twist is lovely and I think she did pretty okay!
Kylie goes next and she’s giving me a Dolly Parton/Madonna mash up vibe and she also did a great job! Phfew!
Ginger’s up and she’s giving full glam Wilma - classic Minj! She does a (not surprising) great-Ginger-job and the shoe reveal at the end was cute. But it did feel like watching a character more than a person? TBH I have no idea what the judges are actually looking for this challenge? Do they want polish, do they want authenticity, or do they want the CUNTiest moment?
Ra’Jah’s next and she looks gorgeous in that purple (as usual). But oh shit she’s struggling. But okay, she recovered! Not bad, but everyone’s been doing so well it’s gonna be tough!
Eureka wraps it up and I love this playboy bunny get up! And she sticks to her shit! Gotta love that!
I think everyone did a pretty great job! I don't know exactly how to critique them on this challenge - is it the quality of story or the polish of the storytelling?

Kylie: there are so many corn dog moments in this episode! And one up her snatch! Ah!
Ginger: How’d she get that curling iron to smoke like that?! Very 2012 Youtube girl burning off her hair meme meets glam Wilma again
Eureka: Wow I saw so many versions of this look over the weekend!
WELP, Eureka is the winner! Good for her, but WUH OH does that throw a big ol wrench into this whole damn thing!
TKB’s nightmare is a reality. SHIIIIIT.
Let’s get this lip sync going - Eureka is dressed like a fancy Picasso clown. The lip sync assassin is Jaida Essence Hall! And she’s dressed like I dream of Jaida! Jaida is going for it but suddenly Eureka’s a court jester throwing her body all over that damn stage! Whew I appreciate both of their ENERGIES! And they tie!!! Sure why not! And that means the queens on both lip sticks will be eliminated! GOOD LORD THIS IS AN EMOTIONAL ROLLER COASTER. The group chooses TKB to get the chop. And Eureka also chooses TKB. Well, DAMN. Poor TKB! But she left with pride! That's nice!
Wow that was quite an episode. I’m gonna need some time to fully process it. What did you all think? I feel bad for TKB getting her chance taken away, but I do think the top 4 is pretty great. I don’t know who I’m rooting for. How about you? Ginger’s been consistently great (but it's almost predictable?), Kylie is constantly surprisingly awesome and Ra’jah has a mix of great moments (also she made EVERYTHING she wore on the runway this season…I MEAN DAMN that's incredible!), and Eureka is always fun but maybe more inconsistent than the other queens? But now she’s got a new fire under her IB(as)S. It's kinda anyone's game to me at this point! Let me know what you all think! I’m going to go continue to hydrate the sins I made over the weekend! "chaotic enjoyment" was exactly it! This episode did feel like the producers were playing 4D chess to make previous choices make sense and unfortunately TKB got shit on for it ... in so many ways 🙃

You would think the title of the game being what it was they would have to act out a Mean Girl skit!! I'm with ya about Eureka too. Seems very planned. Sneaky Ru.

I think they wanted Eureka to come back and to win and make it in the final 4. I kinda feel tucks about it. Poor TKB was having such a hard time already with confidence then Eureka knocks her out of final 4 and drags her back down. I don't think Eureka deserved the win, but she was the only one without one. Hmmmm curious. The Lip sync battle with Jaida was a chaotic enjoyment. The song choice was a doozy! Seeing TKB leave was sad. I wish she would have made the finals. I am all in for Ra'jah!! She has turned up the heat! Her looks are fierce!! Ginger looks like the favorite with Kylie right there too. Have good week y'all 🌸
2021-08-30 22:29:19 +0000 UTCAll right, I'm all caught up now, wasn't able to jump right in at the beginning but have been paying attention and catching bits and pieces but now I'm up to date and now I'm sad. First, all of ru's suits are great but love me a floral, anything that reminds me of my Oma's guest room duvets. Would wear Also Kylie looked like cyndi lauper in the mini challenge, who would be a great snatch game, not for her specifically but, cyndi in general Asides over, I did not like this challenge. I mean everyone's stories were excellent and, even with rajah's hiccups, all of the queens were great. How do you judge that competitively? I thought Eureka was fine, it was an enjoyable story about shitting one's self, but do you judge a person telling a story, especially as personal as some of these queens got? she won because if anyone else won, they'd send her home again and that whole game within a game would have been completely pointless (just like it is whenever they bring a queen back who goes home the same episode). And tkb, who was in the top 4, is now not in the top 4. I don't feel like eureka's mediocre lipsync against silky should have made tkb lose her spot. If anything I kinda wish silky would have won cus that bitch put in the effort, and didn't make the past 2 episodes completely meaningless. Going into the final I'm rooting for Kylie, but I have a suspicion either ginger or eureka might win, if not they'll just keep bringing them back until they do, all stars 38 anybody? Sorry for the bitterness and cynicism, I just want to appreciate drag queens and the show makes it hard to do that sometimes.
