I was ROOTING for US!

Happy Saturday, Patrons! How are we feeling? Like fireworks or plastic bags? Either way, I hope you're able to make someone go oh? oh. OH! It's a ridiculously rainy day here in LA. The kind of weather that makes me want to eat a whole trough of soup under a weighted blanket. Which I advise against...it's extremely difficult.

But enough about me and my troughs! Let's get into this weeks Drag Race recap! We're on episode 4! And you know what they say...four's company. FINALLY, we get the whole dang company together! Our won't-leggo-their-ego-ladies are introduced to our lovable losers just as they come off the main stage! Lashes are fluttering and lip liners are curling as we get to hear them size and smize up each other. For funzies the winners stashed Elliott behind a wall dressed like a Real Housewife of Beverly Hills Magician's Assistant so she can hear all of the (two) tea(s).

Like a group of hungover boxers, they throw some weak jabs. True to assumption, Tina stirs the pot and prompts a perfect Lala confessional of her licking her fingers saying "mm mm mm this is tasty". It got me good. But not until Elliott started up with Tamisha and she said "All these chihuahuas beside me and you’re gonna go for the pit bull?" That got me ALL THE WAY good. I might have even started licking my fingers. Who knows, it's been a strange day!

The next day, the boys are back in the werkroom! And they look cuuuute! But I'm gonna need a search party for two things.... 1. Kandy's shirt buttons and 2. Joey Jay.... bc I think Kandy might have stolen that pure boy and stashed him in her hotel room with her buttons. I kid, I kid! Ru quickly breaks up the locker room shenanigans dressed in a suit that looked like a walking set of rich, bitchy curtains. Like she just clocked out of her day gig hanging over a window at the Palace of Versailles. Big fan.

We learn the challenge this week is to film cheesy trailers for RuPaullmark Channel holiday movies! I love this challenge. They get to be silly, they get to be stupid, they get live their Lacey Chabert Hallmark fantasies! They break into teams to get to werk and some of the highlights for me were...

-Elliott's awareness to cast herself as the airhead-with-a-heart-of-gold

-Kahmora's awareness that Elliott's voice sometimes sounds like someone cutting a hubcap with a butterknife

-Lala Ri having no awareness of Flag Day as a real holiday

-Utica absolutely SLAAAAAAAYING Ru with a medley of completely aware/unaware buffoonery when asked if she's ever partaken in the green mistress... I COULD HAVE WATCHED AN UNCUT HOUR OF THIS COMPLETE AND UTTER NONSENSE IT WAS TOP NOTCH RIDICULOUSNESS .... *CHEFS KISSES TIL MY WRIST SNAPS OFF*

Ugh...i'm out of breath even remembering it. But that could also be the lack of oxygen under this weighted blanket. Who knows!

As expected they set up a light rivalry between Tina and Rose and then we're off to the shoots! What a hodgepodge of hits, misses and green screened trees with FULLY BODY-ODY-ODY. Ugh, I love Kahmora. I like to think she WASN'T as on TOP of her LINES because she WAS SPENDING so much TIME getting her PADDING and BOOBS on for US! I'm sorry I'll LEAF her alONE.

They next day they paint for the runway and we learn about how Symone showed up for her prom in drag and it just adds to the already overflowing pile of reasons to fall in love with her. Tamisha has an equally heartwarming and just so damn endearing story about figuring out she was gay after high school and having biological kids that ARE ALMOST MY AGE. And her drag name comes from her biological daughter? All of it is so charming and so captivating. I don't know about you guys but, for me, Tamisha has such a wonderful mix of maternal/paternal energy, hilarity, heart, experience and openness to learning new things...she gives me the sweet tingles! But that might also be both of my legs losing feeling under this weighted blanket. Who KNOWS!

Forget the planes and automobiles, this runway was all about TRAINS!!! Here's my roundup! (and my apologies if some of it makes absolutely no sense!)

Denali: looked like a slutty Vegas parrot (in a good way!)

Olivia: Baby got BACH!

Elliott: looked like a rich, retired Vegas showgirl walking up and down the aisle at her 6th wedding

Kahmora: STUNNING more like RuPaul's DRAG...ON Race amiright???  hey, i'm just ROOTING for HER

Symone: WOWOWOW ... innovative, fashionable and true to her style/upbringing/culture...I cannot wait to see what she does next!

Lala Ri: Pandemic mask but make it SEXY SNAKES ... and then molt right there on the runway??? How's your shed? She hasn't had any complaints!

Utica: I had no idea what was happening but she said she did a reference to The Carol Burnett Show... and now after looking it up  I'm even more in love with that possible-pot-smoking-jesus-toking lil weirdo!

Rose: George Washington crossing the Delaware by way of 75 CVS loofas

Gottmik: sexy scarves and a bedazzled leafblower...why not!?

Tina: Goes for the literal pun of a train conductor...Tina herself might be a literal pun

Joey Jay:  A fully crafted mouth with extended, hand painted tongue or a subtle scream for help from the inside of Kandy's hotel room closet? Either way, CUTE!!!

Kandy: A simple velvet vamp... but she's been busy kidnapping, she didn't have time to glam it up!

Tamisha: A fierce pink jumpsuit THAT SHE MADE?! AGAIN!?? I can't take it! It's too good!

As always the winds are long here so we'll wrap it up! Reviews come in and Symone takes top honors (are we surprised??) leaving Kahmora, our wooden dragon, and Denali, our big bird, to lip sync for their lives. Kahmora sadly stiffens up while Denali practically flies all over the fucking stage. I mean, fuck.. I was a bit on the fence about Denali because she seemed like a lot of talk and not a lot of walk but GIRL GOT HER STEPS IN. She walked, hopped, skipped, jumped, pecked, perched, bucked and clucked her way to a shantay. While Kahmora is sadly...draGONE girl. Sorry the weighted blanket is now restricting the oxygen to my brain.

I gotta wrap this up! What are your thoughts on the episode??? Who's in your top? So far I still have Symone, Kandy, Rose, Utica and Tamisha in my top even though I'm worried for Symone and her sewing skills next week! Who are you worried for? I'm worried I can't get this blanket off of me. Enjoy your weekends y'all! ❤️G

I must say seeing the Carol Burnett show really hit a nostalgia of being at home with my Mom around 6th grade hah! Carol Burnett, truly a legend, getting representation from Utica the delightfully bright and dark weirdo I LIVE!

I honestly think Denali is one of the best lip-syncers ever. She is a true dancer and ATHLETE. Her music videos on YouTube are epic too I highly recommend to everyone. Great review, Grace! I thoroughly enjoy reading these each time. 💜

I just have to say I started watching Drag Race because of talk on the pod and these reviews by Grace and I am never turning back! Utica is my absolute favorite. I really hope she gets her moment to shine soon!

Also that moment with Rosé and Denali in Untucked... I absolutely loved. I hope we see more of that side of Rosé because i think she’s really talented!

Symone is such a star, I was blown away by her in this episode! And I agree about that moment with Ru and Utica- it was funny but Ru’s laugh at first was too much, and then it kept going on and it got funny the longer it went😂

Another great episode! I agree with everyone else, Denali did NOT deserve to be in the bottom, but tbh I’m glad she was cause that lip sync was EVERYTHING. Denali better make an appearance as a lip sync assassin on All Stars if they keep the same format as AS5. I’ve fallen even more in love with Symone!! She has so much personality on the runways and lip syncs, it was wonderful to see that she’s got the acting and comedy chops too! I also love her style and point of view in her looks, I’ve never seen a queen do what she does on the runaway. I feel like their trying to paint Rosé as this cocky/overconfident asshole, but I’ve been seeing a lot of humility and sincerity from her so far and I’m really enjoying it. And as much as I love drama, I’m really enjoying the genuine love and sisterhood the girls have with each other. (Let’s see if this stays as the competition gets harder) Tamisha Iman continues to be THE QUEEN. I wish the newer seasons of drag race would include more “mature” queens. Queens like Nina West and Chad Michael’s have brought so much professionalism, love, and knowledge to the completion and I think we need more of it. I’m so happy Tamisha Iman is getting the love and respect she deserves from the other queens and the fans.

AGREED! Denali is gonna have to insure her legs because everyone is gonna wanna see her perform!

CANNOT WAIT FOR SNATCH!!

those small ridiculous things are what separates princesses from QUEENS!

1. agreed! I think they were really testing her! 2. i know, I really want to see more of her lewks! 3. it's hers to lose at this point but it's still TOO EARLY! 4. I'm hoping they both have some humbling moments when we get to hear more of their backstories! 5. I KNOW! she just reeks of WISDOM!

What a fun episode! I love those silly acting challenges. I was SO impressed with Symone. I mean, we knew she had a sense of humor but it's one thing to have a witty comeback and a whole other thing to deliver this funny of a performance. I just coudn't help myself every time she said "Flag Factry". :D I also don't think Denali deserved the bottom spot but I am SO GLAD I got to see that lip sync. It was so much FUN!!! That girl is going to have PACKED gigs (fingers crossed gigs can happen again etc. etc.). Btw, these reviews are becoming such a nice Sunday morning tradition for me. Thank you! <3

Absolutely living and breathing for Symone!! Would love to see her and Gottmik in the finale. Find Tina and Kandy have a kind of....arrogance to them sometimes? Either way I think this years snatch game is gonna be INCREDIBLE bc so many of them are so funny

I'm half way through the 2nd season of Blown Aways and if nothing else, I'll give you 4 words: "Guest Evaluator Bobby Berk" (maybe my favorite NtD episode you've done).

Also, Grace, how would you spell "factory" with the way Symone kept pronouncing it??? I LIVED.

1. Denali did NOT deserve to be in the bottom. She accepted a challenge of taking on a lead role. She had some misses, but it wasn't the worst. 2. I'm sad to see Kahmora gone. She would have slayed next week's ball challenge. 3. SYMONE for the THRONE. She's got style, talent, and attitude! The preview for next week looks like she might struggle with the sewing part of the ball challenge. 4. I'm really not into Tina Burner.... at all. I usually like comedy queens, but her and Rose just reek of overconfidence and I'm not sure I'm even invested in their future drama together. 5. Tamisha's non-competitive spirit SENDS ME. Lololol they're all in Untucked spilling the tea and Tamisha is just like "I'm observing. I gotta reflect on myself before I can even think about judging others." WOW. Miss Congeniality if she doesn't get the crown.

It's big time silly, really interesting to watch alongside drag race

Yeah I'm really interested to see what happens with Symone next week since she can't sew! And oh I'm BIG into Blown Away but haven't started season 2 yet! I hear it's silly!

I'm nervous for Symone, coming in that strong and that hot, that if she stumbles even a little, they'll send her home. Also Grace, I'm curious if you've seen Blown Away on Netflix, the glass blowing competition? It's such a weird confused little reality show, you being a connoiseur of reality shows, I'd like to know your thoughts.
