A GRACE of the Mondays
Added 2020-08-24 21:54:59 +0000 UTCIt's that time of the week, my friends! Time to check in on those wily little goals we set for ourselves last Friday! Woooooo! HELL YES! [insert Juggalo style "family" chant]
Now, I'll be honest with you guys, I set some preeeeeetty simple goals for myself and I delivered preeeeetty mediocrely on them. It happens! Now, I'll be double honest with you...I did consider embellishing my results to you. It was a passing thought! And then I lol'd at how truly lame that would be. Lamer than not completing the goals all together. So I'm not going to do that to you. This is a trustworthy space! Things get real dumb and real silly here, and in between all of that is integrity! Okay, here's how I did:
1. Meditate twice: I meditated on Saturday real good. I did the sitting and the breathing and the whole shebang. Then, on Sunday, knowing that mediating twice was my goal, I did not meditate and instead thought about how I should and could meditate all day long. You ever play one of those fun pranks on yourself? Where you have a super simple task to do ... literally a 10 minute task that requires absolutely no movement and literally only breathing... and rather than getting it done you think about potentially possibly doing it at some point while it's still technically the day you said you'd do it on and then before you know it you're all high and in bed watching House Hunters and whoops well there's nothing you can do NOW, I mean it's definitely not your fault it's bed time and you're obnoxiously full of Cinnamon Toast Crunch. It happens! BUT, I did meditate today. That counts! And I'm going to meditate tomorrow! Probably.
2. Spend at least 2 hours reading: Okay, I won't sugar coat this. I spent abooooout an hour reading yesterday and then I got bored and distracted and whoops suddenly I was watching the new HBO docu-series "The Vow" about that sketchy self-improvement group, NXIVM. Again, it happens! For me, as long as I'm attempting to read a little everyday that's progress. Also, I highly recommend The Vow! It just started yesterday and I'm a little bummed it's a weekly series on account of my binge-addicted-pig-brain wants to gobble up the whole series immediately right now. Ahhhh, and this is why meditation will be helpful for me, I see.
3. Put together Mamrie's care package: This one we definitely made solid progress on! I have some reeeeal treasures coming in the mail tomorrow that I can't wait to package up for Mames by the end of the week. If my FBI agent logs on and checks out my search history from yesterday they're sure to get a good chuckle. And, if not, they're likely very concerned for my mental well being.
Well, that's all I got for y'all! Now let me know how you did??? Again, there are no failures here! If you didn't get your shit done, consider that maybe you're just creating a slightly more creative path to get there? I dunno. Or you're lazy. And that's okay too. I'm proud of you either way. Thanks again for sharing your goals with me! That vicariously curious side of my brain is very grateful!
One last thing before I go. SHE'S INTO VR, Y'ALL:

HAPPY MONDAY! LET'S HAVE GREAT WEEKS! β€οΈG

2020-08-25 16:51:54 +0000 UTCohhhh a drive-by wedding! so 2020!
2020-08-25 16:51:29 +0000 UTCI have now tidied my room, vacuumed and dusted so my 3rd goal is finally completed. Just have the put the clean bedding on xx
2020-08-25 14:28:12 +0000 UTCI don't know where mine went so here it all is again. 1. Go for a long walk β I managed to complete this as me and my family went for a walk around the National Trust gardens of Stowe house and gardens. This was lovely and we had some lovely blue skies even if the weather was extremely windy. 2.Empty my emails β I managed to complete this but think this will have to be a regular thing as it gets so busy in there. 3. Tidy my room - I did not manage to get this done on Sunday as I met up with a friend who I have not seen since the beginning of last month, I did, however, take the large cardboard box from my Cricut out of my room so that was a start. I couldn't do it yesterday and I was working doing respite so I am going to move this task to today (Tuesday) as I'm in the UK and add stripping and washing my bedding to the list even though we have a storm here so there are crazy winds and non-stop rain. Well done for doing some bits Grace, it is hard doing bits sometimes and I think we need to ease up on ourselves sometimes. Even getting some bits done is good and I think this weekend tasks thing that you have set up is helping everyone.
2020-08-25 07:53:19 +0000 UTCI did my goals! I made my wife and I some tasty food, I kept myself hydrated, and I started rhinestoning something for a burlesque act that I'll preform... Someday?

2020-08-25 06:35:46 +0000 UTCAhh yay!! It'sa great recipe! I also marinated the tofu in the orange juice and ginger, sooo yummy! π
2020-08-25 05:01:10 +0000 UTCAbbie! I made that orange chicken recipe last week too! It was so so good!
2020-08-25 04:34:00 +0000 UTCI love love love your honesty and humor Grace! Well I got 2/3 of my list done: 1. Apply for 2 jobs: I let my overwhelm get the best of me on this one, but I'm going to work on it this week 2. Make quinoa loaf, mashed potatoes and those Mamrie carrots. Did it and OMG...I'm still eating leftovers and it was all so good! 3. Get a covid test. Did it AND got my results back...all negative :)
2020-08-25 04:32:51 +0000 UTCI got my 3 items done this week: 1. Wash my hair -yes I know sad that this made the list, but it has become a struggle in this stay at home and no one has to see you time in my life. 2. Went to a drive by wedding- check! It was adorable and responsible and my friend looked so beautiful on her big day! I honked my horn a bunch and tossed a gift out the window 3. Finish up some sparkly bottle orders- check! But this seems like a never ending cycle, once some are complete I have more to begin. So Iβm gonna get going on that now, again.
