FIRST HALF of the Warptorio Grande Finale!

SPOILER ALERT!

This is only the first half of the warptorio finale. The video below can still be watched as a standalone episode, as the finale will have two distinct parts, and this is the first one. All of the editing is finalized, you won't miss anything by watching it.

Factorio Space Age

I have been granted early access to Factorio Space Age, which will publicly be released october 21st, but creators with early access are allowed to stream and post videos from OCTOBER 14th.

I have NOT been to the LAN-party, which means I have 0 hours in Factorio Space Age, and thus I might be the only creator who will be able to share their TRUE New Player Experience, which I intend to do. Despite having early access, I haven't played a minute yet except for checking if the game starts up, and I intend to stream every evening starting Monday October 14th, from 19.00-24.00 CET. (on twitch, and maybe simultaneously on youtube if I can get simul-streaming set up in time). So, unless you want to remain spoiler free yourself, join me from october 14th and we will discover factorio Space Age together!

On that note,

I REALLY want to post the entire warptorio finale upcoming weekend (fri/sat or sun), which means it likely won't be in early access on patreon (I'll use the youtube premiere function instead).

I will also continue and finish up the 10k SPM streams in factorio 1.1, without all the new changes. Currently red/green/blue/purple are done, and only 10k yellow and space science remain to be designed and built. I will stream the 10k base once or twice per week, as usual really, except on differen days. I updated the twitch stream schedule to reflect my planning. Some of the streams may get cancelled, maybe last minute even, due to the paragraph below.

And now for some bad personal news. Reading is optional, but I want to explain why creating the finale has been taking so long. My father has suffered a stroke, just like that out of the blue, and is suddenly severely limited in mobility, so I've been taking a lot of time taking care about my father. Fortunately his mind is still ok. He has been hospitalized and released again quickly (my brother and I have meanwhile adapted the home with stuff like extra railings, arranged medical equipment and a hospital bed for at home, etc). At home however he still regressed a bit, so he's now back at the hospital again, from where he is awaiting to go to a specialized revalidation clinic. For the sake of producing videos, it's been basically impossible. Editing video works best when taking long uninterupted work sessions, as you need time to get back in the story/flow, and getting the picture of the past and future storyline back in my brain's "RAM memory" so I can continue to shape the video takes a lot of focus, and say a 10 minute interruption will overwrite most of that "RAM memory" with whatever needs to be done during that interruption. With father at home, there have naturally been many of those interruptions, so making actual progress editing the video has been a pipe dream. With father back at the hospital however, I can work more or less like I normally would, be it with taking a bunch of half days off to visit father, help him do his recovery exercises and additinally get him out in the fresh air a bit now and then. Much is still unclear, but he seems to have started improving again. Let's hope for the best.

I additionally want to state that we are NOT in extra financial need. Do NOT act financially upon this news. In the Netherlands, medical insurance is obligatory, and especially the costs for the really expensive things like hospital stays and renting (borrowing) medical equipment to use at home is almost entirely covered by that insurance.

Being a caretaker can really be a second full time job. I’m amazed you’ve been able to do as much as you have to be honest. Don’t worry, we get it! We’ll watch as you get stuff out. Make sure you find time to take care of yourself between all this as well. Best wishes to you and your dad.

Best wishes, sorry to hear.

I'm fine with people supporting me because of my content (obviously), but I do not wish to use or abuse that "sphere of influence" to try and extract more than that people intended to give out of their own free will.

Michael Hendriks

Terrible news, but that final paragraph is so typically you. Asking people to please stop paying you is becoming a trend. :)

Wish your father is doing well. Take care.

Viktor Erpylev

That’s awful news about your father. Wishing him a smooth recovery from here on forward and all the rehabilitation and support he needs.
