Disclaimer: This video is safe to watch as a complete, independant episode. It does NOT fully end the series yet though. Depending on how much additional video the solving of the Final Problem will turn out to be, the above video may or may not be released as an independant youtube release. I like to think I can fit the ending and the above video together, but by now I should have learned I'm way to optimistic about these kind of things. I just can't bring myself to cut out all the satisfying scenic scenes! (and also I'm up to 6-8 seconds of lag on most actions I do in the video editor now, which will increase by about another second with every 5 minutes of additional video)
Now this series is almost done, (and thanks to all of you!), I'm starting to prepare for building my own "Youtube channel oriented" PC, that is a PC that is optimized for video editing and playing/streaming/recording factorio, starting with the "research which parts/components do I need"-phase. As for now, I think the project will cost "several thousand dollars", though I'm not setting a fixed budget to prevent combining "those really awesome expensive parts I really want" with cheap crappy parts to stay within a budget. I'm not that tech-savvy (I'll be building the PC with my more knowledgable brother), so go wild and share with me the best options for CPUs/GPUs and all other neccesary parts, both the highest-end-total-disregard-for-price stuff (like the previously mentioned 7950X3D, and I remember someone else commenting a certain CPU which was designed for optimal running of large factorio bases), as well as great mid-to-high-range great bang-for-the-bucks kind of stuff.
Anyway, enjoy this 2nd part of the "Finale Trilogy" ;)
Michael
PS: I promised early access to the entire end of the series for everyone who's a patron in January. I may get the entire series done before january 31, but if not, I'll pin a link with the early access video as a pinned comment on the hidden video below once it's done (so if you plan to leave, copy the link below and check back in early february for the link)
