Michael vs Rampant attempt 1 (got defeated by sound quality)
Added 2022-08-21 11:10:09 +0000 UTCAfter 7 short recording tests messing with all the different settings, thinking I finally got it right, well I didn't. The sound balance is awful, I should still play with music off even if the editing process mostly consists of cutting out parts, and my microphone settings sometimes don't catch the first syllable due to background noise cancelling, so that needs some work too.
But still, I didn't want to withold from you my first steps in rampant, so for the absolute diehard fans who can live with the awful sound mix, I edited the first 7 minutes of video before deeming the sound quality unaccebtable, and the full first recorded hour of playtime (with the same sound quality, but more "eh" mixed in) is available on twitch, if you must know what happened:

Once I get everything sorted out, I may restart a new map which I publicly stream from the start, and I'll properly announce it. To avoid any further rampant spoilers, I'll retry streaming some vanilla factorio instead (I was SO sure I got the settings right that I could start straight away lol).
PS I streamed this on twitch so I don't need to record in raw format on my computer (just not enough harddrive space next to the Ultimate DeathWorld Challenge video files). Since all edits I intend to do on this is cutting out parts, speed up parts and perhaps move some audio a bit, I don't need the uncompressed raw video, so this is a workaround to avoid the huge video files, as I can download my stream in compressed format from twitch after the fact. I don't intend to truly stream just yet, and don't have any streamer functions like viewer count, chat, alerts etc. So you're not missing out, it's just a video recording workaround at this time.
