September Roundup #1

No leaves changing just yet here in New England, but I can FEEL FALL IN THE AIR. Hope you're somewhere you can view some leaves or pumpkins, or at least drink a pumpkin-flavored coffee or something. Sorry this is a few days off of mid-month! I've been BUSY.

CONVENTIONS

MINI-MICE was at the very end of August, and it was FANTASTIC. MICE (or the Massachusetts Independent Comics Expo) is usually one of my best cons of the year, and even though this one was super paired-down and each vendor only sold for one of the two days, I still experienced wall-to-wall sales all day long. Exhausting but profitable!! Because it's a local con for me, I got to see all the other artists I know in the area, who have all also been cooped up for a year and a half. It was great to touch base with everyone again! If you ever get the chance to attend MICE, I heartily recommend it!! Superpal Ngozi Ukazu also came to visit and we had FUN!!! Here are some pics! 

LADIESCON 2021: Ladiescon is another fantastic local con run by great people who were kind enough to ask me to be a guest of honor 😭. It was also paired-down this year, but the new venue was literally right down the street from my apartment so it was AWESOME. Had ANOTHER great time seeing local pals and meeting new artist friends in my area! I also met some Patrons!! Thanks for stopping by, everyone!! ;o; Didn't get a ton of pictures this time, but here's one of me that I snagged from the Comicazi Instagram! https://www.instagram.com/comicazi/ Please don't mind the oatmeal, I was very hungry!!! 

Also GREAT NEWS: I was just accepted into the ECCC 2021 Artist Alley! ECCC is another one of my favorite yearly cons, and was the first con I had to cancel last year due to the pandemic! It's taking place in early December this year, and I'll BE THERE. 

SAKANA

Not much to report on Sakana right now, unfortunately! It's been very helpful this last year and a half to just think about one or two things at a time, so right now I'm focusing on finishing up the graphic novel before I move back to writing Sakana. Still tentatively planning to relaunch in early 2022! 

ROBBER/ROBERT

Finished another bonus page for RR and some keychain designs! You may have already seen the keychains on Twitter, but here they are again if you haven't: 

They're supposed to look more or less like the set of itty bitty Sakana charms I did a few years ago:

Next I need to come up with a 3rd keychain design with both of them in it. Hopefully I'll have that done in the next few days so I can finally put in the order! 

GRAPHIC NOVEL 

TRUCKIN' ON THOSE PENCILS!! Almost to 200 pages! 

OBELINE 

Ditto with Sakana! I've been putting this on hold to keep my brain from frying. But here's a fancy dude called Hieronymus who's one of the main characters! He looks kind of evil but it's just genetic, he is very nice, and all he wants out of life is a snazzy outfit and a freaking boyfriend, gosh. 

OTHER STUFF

No other new art, but I have CREATED SOMETHING COOL OVER THE PAST FEW MONTHS. And by that I mean I've been growing PUMPKINS in my front yard 😎🎃👌. They're finally mature and I picked them this morning!

And today's harvest, plus some other festive flowers we got at the local plant store! 

They're perfect and small and adorable ;____; . I also found a late-season grower! I hope it reaches maturity before the first frost! 3 PUMPKINS!! 

We also went to the Massachusetts Renaissance Faire (aka The King Richard's Faire). I AM STUPIDLY INTO RENN FAIRES, they are one of my greatest joys in life. Hoping to get a cool costume together this year!! U__U 

And that's it for the first half of September! Trying to finish up as many graphic novel pages as possible in the next few weeks, plus some more RR bonus content.
