The deadpan shot of the DCA entrance killed me. The humor is perfectly interjected, as always!

Dylan Sakamoto

It appears very low resolution for me too, but I just assumed this is the fault of the image source being too small/low-res rather than the video.

Just wanted to say the walgreens bit made me cackle. Love this so far!

Ann

This might just be an issue I’m experiencing for whatever reason, but does the image at 3:16 appear very low resolution and blurry for anyone else?

Sydney Pittner

The dialogue about the trains is x10 funnier after listening to the podcasts lol overall this is fantastic and I have more appreciation for the background knowledge set up in chapter 1

Mallory

I don’t have any insight into errors but I do want to see the carousel of progress done as a set of train cars instead of a circular theater now.

you can see what i am getting at in the first like 30seconds of this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hsoggQOoG4s

What you said is correct it's the animation that's off because it shows the plunger as being centered at the start. I would change the animation so the initial position shows the plungers lower end as being inside the solenoid and after actuation exiting with the same amount exposed as is on the top or just never exiting which is what many do. I admire that you tried to show the end stops on both sides but the simplest solenoid (and it's depiction) just counts on the device it's moving to prevent the spring from ejecting the plunger. Otherwise great work.

Evan Foss

What would be a way to remedy this without adding over clarification? I want to explain this to people that truly no nothing about this and are not interested in all of the nuances and just want a general understanding of solenoids as it applies to animatronics.

The solenoid animation is a bit misleading. In the simplest solenoid the de-energized position has the metal plunger partially out of the solenoid. The magnetic field's effect is to center it in the coil because the magnetic field is symmetrical and so the forces imparted by the field are symmetrical. There are push pull solenoids that use multiple coils but this is not what you are depicting and they don't always involve a spring.

Hi Kevin, two things: “be the” needs a space between the words in the quote by Grandfather Chung and the last quote about not continuing with Chinatown is attributed as “remember” by Harriet Burns rather than remembered! Great work as always though!
