Updates, news, and such

Hey all, just wanted to give a quick update on the state of things, what's (sort of) in store going forward, and all that good stuff.

First off, a big thanks to everyone who's jumped on board to support me. It means a lot, and while it may not be much to you, it goes a long way to helping me be able to do this.

Second, I'm a bit over 2/3 of the way done with Arc 3. I should be wrapping that up in a couple of weeks. Once that's done, I'll be revisiting some of the chapters in Arc 1. There's some changes I want to make, based both on people's comments, and based on stuff I've written later. Then I'll begin work on Arc 4.

This brings me to the meat of this post - plans for the future.

The goal from the beginning for Legend of Ascension has always been a wider release. That means Kindle and Audible, basically. I'm not entirely certain how I'm going to go about doing that quite yet. Publishers are an option, but so is doing it myself.

That said, I find the fic is in a bit of a weird place.

When I started posting, I wholly expected that it would languish in obscurity. I never expected that I'd reach even 100 followers, let alone over 800. At the same time, I'm ambitious and given to delusions of grandeur. Which is why I'm a writer, after all.

I had hoped that I'd be one of those insane stories that hits Rising Stars and gets like 3k followers. That would have made the way forward a lot more clear in terms of how to handle the fic's future. But that didn't happen.

So what does all this mean for you, the people who make up the absolute core of my readers?

Well, for at least the next few months, it means regular updates 3x per week you've been getting. After a lot of thought, I've determined that the best thing for the fic is to keep to what I've been doing. Grow it as best I can, and keep posting He Yu's story.

Going forward, there is a Kindle/Audible release in the eventual cards. How that happens is up in the air, but it'll happen one way or another. Eventually. But it won't likely be something I start thinking about in really concrete terms until Arc 3 is wrapping up.

Until then?

Just keep reading. If you're really invested and just can't wait for a Kindle or Audio, leaving an advanced review would be a huge help. Anything that pushes the story's ranking/score will drive more traffic to it. That means more readers, more Patrons, and more potential interest from publishers.

As a final note, now that I've been doing this for three months, I figure it's time to be a bit more present. That means I'm going to try and have updates here and on my blog about the state of things. I'm aiming for once a month, but bear with me if I miss that.

Again - Thanks for reading, and glad you're enjoying the story so far.

It’s clearly a bit of a slow burn (the mechanisms of cultivation in the world building make it that way)

Dude you’re doing great as for not being a meteor on rising stars I think you’ll be fine. The story is great just lacking meat rn. Once you’re over 150 or so chapters I can see this being one of the best stories in the genre
