By The Christmas Tree - New Orchestra Recording
Added 2021-11-27 17:16:27 +0000 UTCIn fall of 2019, I was switching to Dorico and in order to get to know the software, I spent some time writing three little Christmas tunes just for fun. I have made the mockup as well as the Dorico files available here.
Earlier this year, I was orchestrating the score for one episode of Star Wars Visions by composer Nobuko Toda who just a few months ago approached me, asking whether I wanted to record some music with the Tokyo Studio Symphony - a session orchestra that she and her company recently founded (and recorded the Star Wars Visions Score with). Of course I was excited to record some of my music with them and sent out the scores for tow of these christmas themes that I had written.
A while later I received the recordings and I have to say that I was really amazed by the recordings. The musicians were excellent and they recorded the music at a fantastic concert hall. It was a pleasure mixing this session and I didn't need to add any artificial reverb and yet the recording sounded very transparent and "cinemascope".
