Thanks also to Chris for doing strictly... my metal head sons would come down and watch it with me, mainly to see what band tee or hoodie chris was wearing to training but would watch his performance too, so thank you for the time spent with my sons when normally they'd slag the program off hahah.

Absolutely they can, idk if you watched the Mad That ep about the former KKK dude who's now reformed. I think my issue is he only seemed to show remorse for his actions when it came back to bite him and his career. And instead of rectifying his actions and giving back like the former KKK guy or even educating himself, it feels like he went away untill it was safe for him to come back, and the only way he's addressed it, is through a stand up show he solely benefits from. He's very aware many people will pay to see it because they are intrigued by the whole situation. His lack of discussing it elsewhere, for me, shows he doesn't care about actually making amends, or educating and preventing others from making the mistake. But he's using it to his own advantage which really feels just icky. Of course I could be unbelievably wrong and if that's the case then that's a good thing. The original comment was to just sort of say that I, and a fair few other I know, feel really let down by him being back on, I don't have issues with people watching or enjoying, Im not having a go at anyone that does.

Whilst I agree with what you're saying in principle I also believe people can grow,change and learn from such incidents. Being given the opportunity to show such growth I believe serves better than to deny all chances of success and or bookings in the future whether that be podcasts or comedy clubs. Then if Alfie or anyone was to repeat the behaviour then they haven't learned and I would agree that they hold these beliefs and should be roundly vilified and dropped from opportunities going forward. Thanks mate it's nice to have a genuine conversation without throwing insults at one another.

Oh no I think he's funny ofc. But as to using the terminology for a cheap laugh, I somewhat agree, but, to use it in any sense shows possibly genuine racism, disregard and disrespect to what it represents or severe ignorance/lack of knowledge which from someone of his background seems somewhat unlikely. Whatever the reason, what he did was abhorrent and to give him arguably the biggest platform in UK comedy is very questionable. We wouldn't see Andrew Lawrence on the podcast ever. I totally respect where your coming from entirely and I don't mean any ill, but it just feels like they waited until it had blown over rather than address the issues.

Do you genuinely belive he is racist or that he used racist terminology in order to gain cheap laughs. I personally am of the latter. That doesn't make what happened ok but its very different from being an actual racist. Also the nepotism only really flies to a certain point, to maintain a career in comedy you need to have talent and be funny to succeed. However it is also subjective and what's funny to me may not be funny to you but that's down to our own sensibilities not who someone's parents might be. Have a nice day lid.
