Idk if this is something that’s gonna be a part of the backstory, but usually in forgotten realms lore you can tell the difference between a half-dragon and a Dragonborn due to only Half-Dragons having tails. Would be an interesting aspect for whatever his pre-urge life was like I mean whatever you do im sure it’ll be amazing, love all you’ve done so far! 💖💖💕💖

2025-03-02 01:33:50 +0000 UTCMy personal headcanon for Durge is that he tried, unsuccessfully, for years to resist Bhaal's pull and live a decent life - only to realize after one mind-controlled bloodbath too many that he'd never be able to fully overcome his fathers influence, no one around him would ever be safe and he would never be free. So in his warped, broken and functionally insane state of mind he eventually linked his plight to all the stories of old where heroes would eventually arise without fail to slay the dangerous villain. In other words: If he'd become dangerous and vile enough some day, SOMEONE would come to save the day and end his torn, pain-twisted existence. On that day, he resolved to embrace his vile duties as efficiently as he could to force those unseen, idle forces of good to come hunt him. So the description "newly formed assassin" gives me hope this will go into a direction I'll like!
