How to use Mina in battle.
Added 2020-04-15 16:05:28 +0000 UTCHello everyone,
we recently introduced Mina the Vampire as a player controllable character.
She is a very peculiar character that comes with a unique fighting style. To allow for this we had to introduce a bunch of new features in our ever-growing battle system.
In the right hands she is extremely powerful, but yes, you do need to know how to play her.
So here are the main things you have to know.
Being a Vampire she requires constant nourishment and this is why every turn she will lose HP.
This said she has a very powerful skill, Vampiric Drain, which drains the HP of the target to replenish Mina's HP. The skills is very strong and not only does it compensate for the HP loss Mina experiences every turn but in most cases it will also cover any damage she has received.
Now this skill requires MP and MP is not infinite right... well... another peculiar thing about Mina is that her Fatality, unlike any other in the game so far, fully replenishes both her HP and MP.
Now you start to see a patter of total battlefield dominance, at least in regards to 1 on 1 combat situations.
Additionally, she has a very strong claw attack and a Mind Control skill with a 50% chance to land which will render the target inoffensive for a time. It might seem low, 50%, but if you land this on a high damage dealing foe it might turn around the outcome of a losing battle.
When you use the Demon Artifact on Mina, she will be possessed by a the Demon within the Artifact and her full Vampirism will come forth. Not only will her appearance change drastically but also her unique Vampiric attributes will be strongly enhanced.
Her HP loss will increase by a lot, but even more so will her strength. her attacks will become devastating and that also includes her Vampiric Drain which will more than compensate for her HP loss.
Important note: Mina's Vampiric Drain works by draining the life force of the opponent and therefore, it requires the opponent to be alive. This means that it will not work on something that is dead like for example anything the falls under the undead classification. This might prove to be a problem for Mina's survival when fighting the undead, but fear not her Fatality bypasses this issue. Her Fatality goes after any kind of energy available and even an undead creature as some sort of energy that allows it to function.
I hope this will help you in mastering Mina in battle and have fun trying out this new combat style in the field of battle ;)
