As you said, Alan, not a great episode, but the next one, episode 5, “Sleeping Dogs Lie,” is fantastic (and this episode introduces a new recurring cast member). Episode 6, “Watching the Girls Go By,” is OK (nothing brilliant) but the season finishes strongly with episode 7, “As One Door Closes.” Don’t forget, after episode 7 there’s the Christmas special, “To Hull and Back,” which is an absolute classic.
