Pink Floyd Echoes and Careful With That Axe, Eugene, Live at Pompeii

Comments

The xylophone you were hearing is a distorted grand piano. If you look to the right of the gong, you can see it being played in front of the speaker stack. There is also a couple of organs, not sure which ones, but he used to play a Hammond a lot. The Bass player is playing one of them before he stands up. As a side note A Saucerful Of Secrets is from the album of the same name and Careful With That Axe Eugene is originally the B side to a single and was later put on Relics. The versions of both songs on Ummagumma are live. It's Pronounced um(like umbrella)-a-gum(like gumball)-a. Like a lot of the albums before Meddle there's some very experimental songs and I can guarantee you won't like them all, but without listening from the beginning, you miss the development of their sound and even if it's a little Avant Garde it's still well performed, well produced and an experience you won't forget in a hurry. Start at the beginning and enjoy sailing down that Endless River.

I'm going to be digging a lot more into their stuff. A ton of which, like this, won't make it onto youtube. This was full stop blocked with the dispute rejected. Now whether that is due to them re-releasing the concert into theaters or not, which I guess may be why since they normally release blocks and claim reactions to their music, either way, I'll be doing more reactions to them and their full discography.

Some of the best music ever performed full stop

It's one complete song ECHOES. from the album MEDDLE. Performed live at Pompeii in 1971. You now need to finish it off by doing ECHOES part 2. That'll wrap it up.
