The Upcoming Week and Beyond

I have quite a bit going on for Youtube and beyond youtube. This week I'll be uploading more of everything across all tiers. I'll be recording more as well, though this may be one of the lightest weeks of recording I've had in a while when not taking a break.

I'll be recording more for Vikings, Mr Inbetween, OFAH and Porridge. I've stretched myself thin enough that Doctor Who may not be recorded this week though I do plan on recording a reaction to the Doctor Who classic DVDs I've got in the coming month so if anything, by the end of February you should get the first reaction to one of those story arcs in here.

Past that for the More Eclectic Beard Reactions I've got stuff I'll be editing and I've got over 40 videos bookmarked. So I'll be getting ahead a bit for that tier specifically as well this week.

For anime I'll be recording and editing for Patreon and Youtube for all the current shows and you'll finally see reactions to Ameku MD, Doctor Detective that I've recorded the first 6 episodes of. Luckily it was pushed back a week for the next new episode which is nice, I can sync episode 7 up with the newest episode.

Now, outside of that, later this week I'll be making announcement and linking the travel type channel I've been talking about for the last month and a half. I've got it named, got the handle for it set on youtube as well. You'll be getting an announcement as well of a hybrid travel/reaction type channel. That channel I'll be reacting to videos on historic events or locations and it'll be hybrid since the beginning will be either a shot on location OR talking about the video being reacted to and it will transition between the video being reacted to and bog standard reaction as well as on location breakdown with portions of the original video being interspersed in and then expounded on. I'll be recording for both of those channels starting this weekend.

For both of those channels I'm going to be attempting to bring a different value proposition than most channels doing travel vlog and reaction type channels. Most travel channels or channels that look at historic locations, they only look at one location OR they'll only look at niche local out of the way places. There aren't a ton that look at both. For the other channel, I've yet to see any channel react to culture, local or historical based videos and mix on location looks at what's being reacted to with traditional reaction pieces looking at the original video so you get a wide ranged and varied reaction where as little of the original video is actually used other than what's necessary.

On top of that, this next weekend I'll be dipping my foot back into the sports collectibles world. I'll be using a social media account I've set up to promote cards, getting cards separated and have it culminate this coming weekend with my first live stream on the app whatnot to sell some sports cards that I have (mostly football and baseball). In the coming weeks I'll be restarting my ebay store selling sports and trading cards where for the most part I'm going to be focusing on low end sports cards. I'm also collecting, mostly my favorite players I watched when I was growing up and players from the college team I root for once they hit the NFL and NBA but that's going to be a side venture to try to start a business outside of youtube that I can build.

So I tell you all of that to tell you this. As I've started finally planning content, what I want to do channel wise and then finally what ultimate direction I want to take, which is sustainable content that doesn't have to worry about copyright in any form. By the end of the year I want to be in a spot where it doesn't matter if I want to look at a location in the US that's a thousand miles away or a location in another country half way across the globe, I want to have things worked to be on my way to that level of freedom. I love doing reactions but I want to be at point within the next year that across ALL of my reaction channels, I'm not feeling like thanks to youtube's algorithm I have to keep pushing out content multiple times a week. I want to reach the point where I can put out 2 or 3 quality reactions a week, and have 1 or 2 of those reactions actually play into one or two other channels videos So instead of looking at something like Why the Dutch Wait Less at Traffic Lights, I can react to the video on one channel and on a separate channel the reaction to fuel an on location look and expound on what was reacted to. I full plan on deconstructing some of my older videos on the main channel in that way once I can reach that point. All of that will feed into content that is of higher quality overall. I have grandiose plans, but I feel with this goal as the goal, instead of just flying by the seat of my pants, I can give you better and better content. My honest hope is that by the middle of next year, my main channel is no longer my main channel, but rather a tributary that feeds into a constant stream of higher quality content.
