There may well be some idiotic comments on Youtube if it makes it onto there, but anybody who holds the same sentiments as some of the psychopaths portrayed in this probably would benefit from seeing a shrink quite frankly! I remember seeing this advertised before it was broadcast was back in 89 and a bunch of us watched it. To this day we're still laughing about some of the one liners in it. For me it put Gary Oldman on the map & showed just what an amazing actor he is, who of course has since made it big. From memory this was a made for TV film, hence the shorter length and lower budget. On the whole football violence theme, very sadly it did reach these kinds of epidemic and insane levels in the UK, particularly during the 70's and 80's. I've looked into this and nobody quite knows how this whole violence associated with football thing started as they traced incidents back well over 100 years. I'm very glad to say that this stain on our nation is much more under control now, although sh*t does still happen from time to time but this is a well told film because it tells it like it is and they spared no punches in telling it. A more recent version of this was remade a while later in the 2000's but just doesn't have the same impact for me.
