Doctor Who Aliens of London and World War 3

Well I miss labeled the last one as Aliens of London but changed it after the fact. This go around we've got Aliens of London and World War 3. Aliens fake a crash landing in London but they've been here all along in upper echelons of British government and military positions. All so they can get the nuclear codes from the UN to turn the planet into radiated slag to sell off planets and as starship fuel. The Doctor and Rose may have other plans for them on that though, as they normally do.

And to do all that with a cult classic and British icon like Doctor Who is very brave and legendary lol

I'm guessing you think next episode is the last because most British TV shows (especially comedies) are 6 episode seasons. We got lucky with Doctor Who so it's usually around 13 episodes per season + a Christmas Special. :) I'm really glad you're enjoying Doctor Who. This is my absolute favourite show of all time. And if you're loving the first half of series 1 then your mind is going to be blown by not only the second half, but also series 2, 3 and especially 4 and 5! I'm also a huge fan of series 9 and 10. But we'll get to that when it comes around! :) Thanks for the great content!

Signed up for Patreon to see your full length reactions to this and classic Who and they certainly didn't disappoint! I've long been a lurker and an occasional commentator on your YouTube channel. Always appreciated your reactions to British Comedy and long lost TV classics such as Fred Dibnah. Firstly let me just thank you. I'm so pleased you appreciate the series - both iterations. And it's "fantastic" to watch your reactions. Doctor Who is my absolute favourite show. I work in TV comedy in the UK and I've met many of those involved in the show via work and through friends / colleagues over the years. And it's never lost it's magic to me. I have to confess I haven't watched this one for a while and I'd forgotten just how good this is. Russell T Davies is a phenomenal writer & showrunner. I remember when Eccleston's casting was announced. I was literally jumping for joy. He and Russell T Davies had previously collaborated on one of the greatest TV mini series ever made. It was called The Second Coming and the premise is very simple. What would happen if the Son Of God came back to the modern day? Eccleston played The Second Coming. Compelling, intelligent, brilliant TV. I highly reccomend it. Anyway - you've got so much brilliant TV to come. It's a treat. You might also be interested in a spin off series that started broadcasting during the second series of Doctor Who. I won't reveal any spoilers until we get there - but again it's Doctor Who related was written and created by Russell T Davies. Anyway - this is a very long winded way of saying thanks. And don't worry - you've got another 9 episodes of the 9th Doctor to watch yet.

I know what you mean, Eccleston’s smile made his Doctor. Especially for kids like I was, I was 6 when this aired. Why? Because it’s a friendly image, and his personality is fun and frantic and not the least bit intimidating or scary. Glad you enjoyed this two parter, it gets a bad rap among the fan community for its rather childish aliens. I totally get it, but the plot and story around it is like you said, quite fascinating, what with Rose’s family drama, the world suddenly becoming aware of extraterrestrials, the plot to use weapons of mass destruction, aliens using our own nukes and infiltrating government is a brilliant science fiction idea. And for the time relevant as a parody. The show’s producer and main writer Russell T Davies doesn’t hide it when he says he’s left wing, and in 2005 our prime minister was Tony Blair, who even though he was a Labour prime minister wasn’t very left wing. He got us into the Iraq War because he wanted Britain to feel as powerful and proud as America was at the time under George Bush, under the pretence of looking for weapons of mass destruction that weren’t there, similar to how the fake prime minister says the mothership was directly above the UK ready to blow us up. Therein lies the inspiration for this two parter’s story, it’s Davies having a swipe at the powers that be (or were) in 2005.

"Absolutely on the edge of my seat with this one!" I got a tingle of excitement running down my spine when you said that, not just because I'm so happy you're absolutely loving this, but because I know you haven't even started to see the edge of your seat stuff that this show offers! I can't wait for you to see episodes like "Gridlock" and "Blink"!

The Yorkshireman Reacts

OMG I can't believe I've just noticed the guy that handed him the red briefcase is Nish from Eastenders!

The Yorkshireman Reacts

there are 13 episodes with Christopher Ecclestone so you have another 8 to go yet, I would have liked to see him carry on but do not worry David Tennent is a very good replacement plus i think the budget goes up, and yes Rose is still with us, as I said before Russell T Davies is returningto the show as a writer he wrote these 2 episodes. BTW the next episode contains dalek content
