All of this is crucial to worldbuilding and it's episodes like these that make the characters and world seem more real imo. Plus without proper buildup those hype moments don't hit as hard, they become the norm and you begin to expect them instead of appreciating them. I think a lot of newer anime with seasonal structure messes with expectations when you go back to watching this longer weekly structure. It's not as if one approach is wholly superior to another either, it just depends on the story
