This was such a good song and video and had so many different interpretations of it.
Jin has really grown so much and its amazing to see him take this on.

2022-11-04 01:13:11 +0000 UTCDefinitely a song aimed towards ARMY. They tend to use young girls to symbolize ARMY in the past in their MVs. I feel like my interpretation was somewhere between the ones you came up with. This is gonna be LONG sorry! Got carried away analyzing. 😅 To me it felt like Jin was an alien (therefore a space explorer/astronaut) who had crash landed on Earth (like how he was scouted off the street and didn't actively look to join BTS) and he spent his time with the girl and family (represent the group/BTS?). Then the UFO sent up a signal (something taking him away from being an idol like joining the military or possiibilities people throw out like the group not getting back together after or them continuing on as solo artists instead of a group). He sees the signal and starts heading for the ship (gets enlisted) but on his way there stops and interacts with the girl (ARMY) and remembers all the memories he built up with her, growing and learning together and having fun. He continues on his journey looking ahead and not back (looking to the light he is following). Even as various women bump into him (probably also symbolizing ARMY?) the lyrics tell us that: "You and me Like a star that doesn't shatter Becoming your dream To travel throughout the universe Just as the Milky Way shines upon the darkest roads You were shining towards me The only light found in the darkness On my path to you." He looks back only at the reminder of who he is (the astronaut suit) before continuing on his journey to the "light" at the end of his path, which the lyrics remind us is a path to "you" referring to the viewers who are ARMY both when referring to "you" (the destinatioin) and "light" (what guides him on his dark path). When he gets to the spaceship he makes a decision to stay with her (ARMY) and sends the spaceship back to where he came from but that place is no longer home. As his drawing of the house on Earth shows us, home is where the girl is. And so he returns to her. Definitely like Teresa said a song of I'm leaving but I'm coming back because like the crossword in the video showed us, "ARMY" and "family" and Jin as the "Astronaut" are inextricably linked (literally the letters of Astronaut, ARMY, and Family are linked so they share letters to make up the complete words). Jin is making a journey away from us and enlisting but he isn't planning to stay away from us but to return. In the MV Jin starts off with his helmet at the UFO but then leaves it (a part of himself) with the girl (ARMY) whenever he starts his journey back to the UFO, a sign he had decided to stay before he even left. In Jin's room we see drawings depicting him in space or drawn as an astronaut with the girl and his family and with pictures of UFOs and space on the wall that he looks at. Jin smiles only once in a flashback in the entirely of the MV beforee getting to the UFO but then smiles in about half the shots after he starts returning from his journey to see the girl again. There's definitely the feeling that this isn't a parting that Jin is HAPPY to undertake but one he has to go through anyway. That's not to say Jin might not be happy to enlist and serve his country, merely that his happiness interacting with ARMY will be greater or less restrained when he has finished and returned and is able to interact with us once more after doing his duty to his country. ps.- astronaut = a person who is trained to travel in a spacecraft

2022-11-02 21:04:29 +0000 UTCI loved the mv . This is definitely a song for Army, just letting us know that he was just drifting around until he found us and he found his home with us. Also its a good bye song, but I like to say see ya later song I have to go away for a bit but ill be back k home after my obligations. So yeah its a love song for Army. Thats how I thought about it the first time I heard the song.
