KYTHERA Spaceship WIP #1

I've been a bit hindered in making stuff the past few days due to family circumstances (nothing too serious), but I've managed to slip in a few minutes of sketching and 3D modelling in between here and there. A few months ago I started thinking about the ship, needing interior, exterior and all that. I used a premade model, but that didn't work out. Started on some sketchy interior, but that didn't work out either. After that I sat down to contemplate the initial purpose of the ship and came up with a very generic and simple concept.
At the moment, the shape is as is, and I dig it. However, there will be a lot of detail added, plus I'm considering adding some sharper angles and a loooot of mumbo-jumbo sci-fi greeble. Sure, it maybe looks like it has the layout of Serenity from Firefly, but that's coincidence. I promise. Sure, it may have a separate fission core like the Sulaco from Aliens, but whatever you heard, it's all lies.
The inside will be very utilitarian for the moment as well. I wonder how Jilly's interior management is... Probably as well advanced as her life's management.
Anyway, I hope to get this ship-shape in time for the start of the new comic and hope to upload a new page this week still. Things are a bit hectic at the moment...
