A Question For My Patrons, HELP!
Added 2018-12-15 14:22:17 +0000 UTCHello everyone, I hope you're all doing well! Patreon has recently created a feature called "Special Offers" that I am wanting to try out and I wanted to get your input on some things! If you'd please take the time to read this and leave me some feedback in the comment section, that would be great!
Special Offers are essentially limited time events where if someone signs up at a specific tier on Patreon, they don't just get all the goodies that come with that tier, they get a special bonus that they can only get in that sign up period. So let's say for the first week of January I run a special offer, every current and new patron that signs up to tier $X (not sure which tier just yet) during that time frame gets the bonus.
This opens up the door for me to do some really cool stuff. What I'm thinking I would like to do for January is a celebration of my 2 year anniversary on Patreon, the special offer being a special thank you postcard that gets mailed to you, signed by yours truly!
Down the road I would like to do even cooler things like limited run art prints (yes I know this sounds way cooler than a postcard, but I don't have enough time to get something that elaborate cooked up before January thanks to the holidays and people having lives LOL) and maybe even instax polaroids of the boys. I have a lot of ideas that open things up to allow me to give you all special perks that I can't exactly crank out monthly, but could easily do on a limited run basis.
Also to consider, if these promos run in the 5-10 dollar tier range, that's a LOT of people getting these bonuses, so when it comes to physical goodies I have to be sure that I can fulfill the special offer. That's why prints and postcards (postcard sized prints, if you will) are such a perfect fit for the time being.
So, I guess the question is, does that sound cool? Are there other sorts of things that spring to mind? I have a few ideas that I don't wanna spill the beans on just yet, but assuming that this first Special Offer goes smoothly, I think I'd be really excited to try and do even more with it. The cool thing about the postcard idea is that this would essentially be the first time you could physically own a piece of YuuriVoice, outside of a handful of people who have received business cards from me and stuff. It also allows me to get some practice in shipping rewards out to people, and if we're talking 100+ I definitely need to see how that process would work if I'm going to do something like artwork etc.
Thanks for reading, I really appreciate the input! You all are the ones who make everything I do possible and I want to make sure I can do all I can to create the sort of stuff you all would enjoy!
(As a bonus, you all should know that Patreon is working to create a merch system directly integrated here on Patreon. I don't know exactly how that'll work just yet, but I'm VERY excited about what that could mean. I've had ideas for merch for ages now, but no easy way to implement them.)

2018-12-16 18:31:49 +0000 UTCI think thatβs a wonderful idea! It would also be a good way to get new patreons :D Post cards and art prints would be very fun too. And as time goes on, you could even have your own YurriVoice products/merch! This could also be a great oppprtinity to send direct thankyous to your fanbase as well :)

2018-12-16 08:06:24 +0000 UTCHonestly, I don't think it would be too bad. It would take a few hours to get everything signed and all the envelopes ready, but if I break it down into an hour or two blocks over the course of a week, it would be easy peasy. A lot easier than some of the other things I have to do, and I've been really eager to do something special like this for a while now. Getting physical YuuriVoice stuff into people's hands has been a long term goal of mine.

2018-12-16 08:00:45 +0000 UTCThe thing is, in several ways the postcards would be easier. They're envelope sized. They're bigger, so the artwork would be bigger. Ordering 100's of postcards is way less work and more cost effective than the instax. Come to think of it, my little instax printer probably couldn't hold up to that workload in the first place. So...those are my thoughts on that. I want to do instax for SOMETHING, maybe that would be more of a "if you see me at a convention" thing.

2018-12-16 07:57:56 +0000 UTCJust don't overwork yourself but maybe instead of postcards it's just straight to the instax?
2018-12-16 06:41:15 +0000 UTCI think it sounds like a good idea. Just be careful on what you send and do. It could be possible of too much influx and you get swamped with extra work.

2018-12-15 17:35:29 +0000 UTCI'm not 100% sure what Patreon's merch system is going to be like, but I know that I've got a ton of ideas that would serve as great button/sticker/patch ideas that also go well on clothing and other traditional merch things. I've talking among friends about stickers for soooo long. it's just been hard to figure out how I'd make it work. If Patreon's system solves those problems, then there's going to be TONS of cool stuff people can get from me hopefully before Q2 2019.

2018-12-15 17:31:56 +0000 UTCThis sounds like an awesome idea! Really it gives the audience living outside of the states a tangible thing to hold on too, I honestly think itβs a fantastic idea and as long as it doesnβt cause you too much stress I think it would be a great thing for you to do. Also I was going to suggest some merch, maybe something small to start out with like pins or patches? And then depending on how itβs received you can go from there with more complex merch like stickers and such. Iβm really glad your are getting some positive stuff happening through all the stress and frustration that tumblr has caused you, good luck mate! And enjoy your Christmas break!
